Did anyone catch last night's Modern Marvels? My Tivo did and I will have to say, it was incrediable. Although I knew a lot of the facts and trivia that they presented, it was cool to see the backstage areas as well as models and testing of rides.

A very good show. I would have preferred a bit more "early days of" stuff, but still, I was surprised to see some footage I hadn't seen before. Usually these specials are the same still photos from the WDW History books or some corporate video. But this one had some different stuff in it. A good show, indeed.

By FAR the best WDW special EVER. Light years ahead of the already great Travel Channel specials. I'm going to try and find it online to download.

I loved it it was a vary nice show on Disney and it was new so i had not seen it before- i cant stand the ones that are like 3-5 years old without the new technology!

Missed it and wondering if it will be replayed, the dvd is not available untill the end of Feb.

Seeing as how they have replayed all the other specials, I feel almost certain that it will be repeated .

It was a lovely TV special! I enjoyed it very much. Great look at the TECHNOLOGY of the parks! I was also glad to see the use of so much on-ride footage...pretty surprised that they showed all of the Carousel of Progress they did. Joe Rohde was entertaining (as always  ) Anyway it put the whole resort in a neat perspective and will surely bring Disney some extra visitors in 2006. ;) :D

I agree, An excellent look at the technology. I especcially liked the info about the fireworks. And when I saw the ToT control room I nearly peed myself LOL.

And I loved the Joe Rohde parts. I want to shake his hand. Definitely my favorite Imagineer.

And with more visitors to add to the recent jump in attendance, Disney World is going up and up :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

Yeah! Between Joe Rohde and Tony Baxter, WDI is really blessed. :D :D :D
My favorite story is about Joe Rhode bringing a tiger into the meeting with Eisner and Frank Wells. He was doing his presentation and as he was talking someone opened the back door of the office and let the tiger in who walked around the table a couple times then curled up in the corner. Apparently Eisner and Wells were really uncomfortable. All the while, Joe is still presenting his layout for the Animal-Less Animal Kingdom. Then Joe finishes with, "See? live animals can be exciting" LOL that man is a genius.
