Rumor MK Space Mountain REVISED in AT SOME POINT? (One track? side-by-side seating?)

I wish you could go into deep detail of all the plans you know about for the parks
Space Mountain 2008 was to get

New track same layout
New track support system
New RCS
Silent lifts
New cars with onboard audio (tested on site by taping speakers to an existing car and it worked despite the seat layout)
Main lift new show scene
New speed ramp scenes
Refreshed queue displays
Proper exterior lighting package

While I’m sure PeopleMover could use mechanical help, from a show perspective, it really just needs the couple of remaining ‘94 displays replaced. It seems like it would be exceptionally simple to enhance. The rest of it should naturally improve as the associated attractions and shops it passes through are themselves improved.
You’d think. But again they’ve been sat on that one for at least a decade. And just gave the station complex an ugly paint job.

Gosh those updates sound good. If only. Rode it a couple times this past week for the first time since last year and it feels more overdue for some TLC than ever.

What if it was a hybrid between DLP’s coaster (outside/inside) and WDW (indoor dark)? It could duel in the daylight and whip you every which way in the dark

I think Tron's placement next door and it being both indoor/outdoor and "dueling" (even if you're dueling your own reflection), would make it a hard sell for Space Mountain to have the same exact elements. Space needs to feel like its own special thing, even if it's sitting next to a modern day replacement to Space Mountain, and there's an even more advanced version a monorail ride away. I think it's more of a complex problem to solve for than a lot of people realize.

Is the current music, "Mount Bop", the music that was supposed to be played in the vehicle itself?

Ironically, while it is obviously way too early to really get a sense of the direction the parks will go under the new regime. I am actually feeling cautiously optimistic for the first time in well over a decade based on what I have been seeing with the recent refurbishments. (I am not counting ROA as that was clearly Iger's final vanity project.) Still too early to really get a sense of the future direction, positive or negative of course. I am sure Martin knows far more in that department than I do, of course.

Didn't we end up getting the exterior lighting package at some point anyway?

We literally have historical precedent as to why trying to force the Paris conceit onto the American parks is not such a good idea.

So I think they will wait until Villains Land opens in 2032 and then take Space Mountain down for a full rehab and also fix the Yeti.

My only (possible) counter to that is that with Cars Land and Villians both opening (allegedly) within a couple years of each other and right next to each other, Disney may want something on the opposite side of the park to help counterbalance the crowds and a refreshed Space Mountain could help. Though that is likely just my wishful thinking hoping it's done sooner rather than later.

I can’t imagine Disney doesn’t want this finished by the time Villains opens and sparks larger crowds. Bring it down while crowds are lower.

The cheaper one.
Its just cast in a blue spotlight now I think?.... They have been doing this everywhere and personally not a fan. Tiana's broccoli nest looks awful in this same flood light,,,The new studios courtyard,,(but there it seems to blend fairly well and goes with the blue hat) just been noticing they have been doing this, to me anyway cheap trend a lot. Must everything be cast in a blue flood light? I'm being nitpicky I know, it's just they use to do better than that. I could go off topic and add same goes for all the orange show lighting they have been shoving into Epcot's attractions.... but back to Space.

Biggest pet peeve is the Seas pavilion. Living Seas had an amazing intricate lighting package. Now it’s just flood lit like a parking lot.
