True. But they also didn't liquidate their fleet like he said ..

So you think they originally planned to shutter them for good?
Well they saved 2 years of maintenance, an uncertain future (how long, how vacation travel recovered, the vast unknown), insurance, storage, and youd still have to have someone washing them (bird poo can do alot of damage and dirt and grime) (not just a parking space but covered for that long. Plus the vehicles were worth more then than now. From an Opex pov it makes more sense to sell them then purchase.. or lease new ones when or if they were ready to be used again. Also I am sure from a tax pov they made this work in their benefit.

With the shutdown of Magical Express, Disney isn’t going to leave Uber and Lyft to make all the money on the airport-WDW routes. I suspect Disney will offer a flat price for airport transportation via the Minnie Vans to your resort for a couple hundred bucks.

Mgmt couldn’t announce this in January right as Magical Express was shutting down bc it would be too obvious. But now as we get close to summer, they’re probably licking their chops to tap into this “revenue stream.”
They already offered to/from MCO before the shutdown. It was $150 each way, plus tip.
