I'm not seeing a lot of love here on this. What would you spend the money on instead for a first time family of four at WDW?

Too late to get a refund so I'm hoping somebody out there loves this event! Now I'm getting a little nervous. I've always read great things about MVMCP? Yikes!

Personally I would go to MVMCP, i think it adds to the holiday feeling, my family go every year and we love it, the extra shows, the snow down main street, the hot cocoa and cookies, the christmas parade and special characters that come out for meet and greets on those nights only! I would say for your first time it will add to the already amazing experience! Hope this helps, have a great trip :)

I loved it. I only went once to MVMCP and it was magical. I really felt like I was at a huge Christmas party when I went. They had special shirts there for the event and sold out fast on certain sizes. I remember watching the parade at night in Frontierland (it was really cold) and the second the parade went past us, these giant doors busted open behind the crowd and Woody came walking out with another cast member holding hot chocolate and cookies. Inside was other Toy Story characters and chairs. It was set up in a way where you could meet other families and enjoy the atmosphere.

We loved it ,stick around and watch the parade twice, we did from 2 different locations. Also there was little to no wait for any attraction.

I don't think it is worth it. Not saying you shouldn't go...but if you're disappointed, don't say you weren't warned.

I'd spend the money on Blue Man Group. :)

Mickeys Christmas party is a total waste of money--even though we do it every time--haha. It's a lot of money just to enjoy a different parade!!!

We have been to a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party every year for as long as I can remember, sadly over the last five maybe six years they have taken more and more of the perks some small (such as the free buttons and photo sent home) some much bigger in my opinion (removal of Twas the night before Christmas show and allowing many more people in to the park than years past).

Last year we decided to skip it, and from my whole families perspective, we didn't miss much, free hot chocolate and cookies, sure it wasn't the same not having those.

Other than the Christmas parade being shown at night time during the party which is a better experience (it is shown during the day to normal ticket guests) we were still able to see everything during a regular day.

I think if we had skipped it for a year ten years ago, we would have missed it greatly, but the events have been watered down so much these last few years, the benefits really are not there any more.

And I would like to emphasise although there are still a limited number of tickets sold, this is still a great deal higher than they used to sell, two years ago for example Space Mountain still had a two hour wait at eleven o'clock at night during a party and the crowds were very heavy. Where as years ago, there parties were a great oppertunity to almost walk on each attraction with minmum wait times.

If someone is going for the first time, and have never seen the Christmas parade before, it is great to see it at night, it feels that much more special in the dark, for people who have seen it before, just having the parade at night is not enough to justify the ticket cost of the party anymore without the other perks from before. (All in my opinion of course)

Even Holiday wishes can be seen by regualr park guests as we get closer to Christmas.

For us as a family, we don't see ourselves attending again unless there are some significant changes and perks to it again, it is a shame because it had become a tradition for us on the first day of our holiday each year to attend the party and get in the Christmas spirit.

MVMCP isn't a bad event. The problem is that MNSSHP is just so much better. MVMCP still has a great parade (much better at night) and good fireworks.

Exactly why I'm glad Disneyland offers it for free. For now, at least.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see that change. Unless they figure out some way to make wads of cash off the 20 nights of Candlelight they are doing this year.

But WDW does offer the parade for free, you just need to go the week or so before Christmas, after the last party.

We're planning to go this year. Never been during this time of year so we're really looking forward to it!
