MVMCP is the “fee” I’m willing to spend to enjoy the far lighter crowds (and usually a hotel discount) in early December and avoid going in late December.

Looking at the past two years you gave, it started either on the 2nd or 3rd Friday. It was only the 3rd Friday last year as the first Friday was August 1. This year, however, it really does start on the first Friday, August 7, assuming the inferences of the image are correct.

I'm sure there are plenty of opportunities to add dates. August has plenty of open nights, plus September and October could easily accommodate 5-6 nights per week of parties. Reluctantly let the poors have one night but the rest? Only the finest 25-year old party entertainment for those willing to shell out $200+/ticket! MAGIC!!!

That's not FOMO.

If people go again and again, it's because they like it.

Who pays a thousand bucks for their family to go to the Halloween even just because their afraid they'll miss out on something? They've been there year after year. What are they missing? They've seen it all.

Y'all make fun that it's the same every year and stale because there's nothing new, then turn around and claim people only go because they'll miss out... on what? There's nothing new. They've done it before. They're not missing anything. They've done it. They know what it's about.

Which means they want to do it again, but not out of FOMO.

Y'all convinced yourselves that this is a thing. Total copium. And cringe. Or you just don't understand what FOMO is.

Or maybe it's your first time and you heard they give out FREE CANDY!!! and you can enjoy MK with only 20k of your closest friends. Bobby and Suzie's childhood could be ruined if they don't go during your once-in-a-lifetime trip!!! Think of the shame they'll feel if Sid and Nancy get to brag about their parents bringing them to a Halloween party but their parents didn't. And... what if one of their friends attended and posted about it and they didn't? What if you didn't get to ride Tron more than twice in a trip???

Yeah…but the habit pull is strong…always has been

It’s not dissimilar to what people say “we ALWAYS go to ohana on our first/last night”

The issue that is glazed is that when that “tradition” started the bill was $200…now it’s maybe $600

Same with these things…the last time we went I think it was $45 a person (an actually dvc discount price)?
