Mickey's house isn't staying

That castle looked hideous! My eyes!

Still, a good example of how things worked before everyone had an internet account and before fansites popped up everywhere.

Many people hated the cake and some people even went so far as to cancel their Disney weddings because of it.

Other people, not having been told it was ugly and awful by insiders and experts, liked it and/or accepted it recognizing it would be a temporary change.

I think the Castle Cake was quite clever, and quite a sight to behold (:ROFLOL:) in person. I enjoyed seeing it, but was quite happy it was temporary.

Castle Cake

I couldn't stand the cake. It detracted from the castle which I expect to see wheh I come to the park. You can do as you please at night but during the day I expect a casle.:king:

Well, sure. All depends if you have vested interest in the Castle's appearance.

I think the same conversation was had over a certain Wand...:lookaroun

I liked the bold change that was "The Castle Cake". It showed TDO was willing to take risks and actually celebrate anniversarys with a bang.

There's a difference between risks and celebrating with class, and with style.

Tokyo does it quite well.

As a much younger me in 1997, the cake was a fun way to celebrate 25 years of WDW. The much older me now appreciates the Tokyo decorations and subtle cues to celebrate that year.

Still I agree that it showed more drive by Disney to celebrate in a meaningful way, regardless of people's opinions. Now we just get a ton of commercials on TV telling us to celebrate.

Hmmm...the castle cake was tacky, but it was only temporary (unlike a certain HAT....). I liked it at the time when I was still a kid, but I'm not sure how I would feel about it today...

Yea, this doesn't look like enough for a 25th anniversary celebration. In fact, it looks incomplete through my eyes.

I can see the castle the same way for 25 years, but on an anniversary lkike that I expect to see something extraordinary and uncommon. Something that will make me go "WOW".

And why did we need a wand on SSE telling us it's Y2K. Seriously? I have no words to describe it except a simple sentence I will shorten- ?
