Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I hear Florida will be putting up a portable screen in front of the Yeti and projecting the Wampa from TESB.
They would have to rename the ride: "Expedition Through the Devolution of Imagineering." The ride is going well until it runs out of track, then things start moving backward into a metaphorical descent down the mountain, fittingly climaxing with a screen.

I'll play!
I bet yes. I'm wondering whether they would announce it for Paris too. If not, but they still plan on building it, the D23 of next August will be the craziest ever for DLP fans. (it was never very crazy for them in the past though, looking at you Hotel refurb)

I’m with you. I say yes.

Yeah DLP has a lot of exciting stuff coming. They ll have a pretty nice second gate when it’s all said and done. I’m assuming MMRR would go into the studio park.

So I’m taking bets. Do we hear an MMRR announcement for DLR this weekend or no?

No.

They aren't going to want anything to draw the attention away from Galaxy's Edge.

I suspect they'll outline all of the limited time offerings we can expect in the spring to celebrate Mickey, with the very intended side effect of keeping the parks full the months prior to Galaxy's Edge.

After Galaxy's Edge is open, I suspect we'll get a vague announcement.

The way they are freaking out internally, they actually seem to want the exact opposite.

I think the whole Marvel expansion technically does more harm than a one-off mention of the clone coming eventually.

Haha very specific. But I just checked the schedule and it looks like there is a Mary Poppins presentation at this time.

Are you sure? I show from 9am - 12pm EST as being presentations about Mickey, starting with Chapek:

The Mary Poppins thing isn't until 7pm EST.

FYI Disney Parks Blog has live updates going:

My mistake. I read 10:32am as 10:32pm eastern. I guess I was thinking it was a nighttime thing.

So basically when I wake up tomorrow at 9am pacific we should already have some news.

So, times we can expect park news:

  • Saturday, Nov 17, 9 AM - 12 PM - Chapek will give updates on resorts worldwide.

  • Saturday, Nov 17, 7:00 - 8:30 PM - Behind the scenes look at Poppins. Possible news of a Poppins ride if Chapek didn't mention it in the morning.

  • Sunday, Nov 17, 1:30 - 4:00 PM - WDI talks about MMRR. Might be news of its clone coming to other parks if Chapek didn't mention it Saturday. Should have interesting peeks at the type of SFX the ride will have.

It's (sort of) well known that Tony Baxter developed a Mary Poppins ride concept which helped get him into Imagineering in the late '60s early '70s.

I know he's out of Imagineering for all intents and purposes, but if they don't let him consult or have some kind of role in a Mary Poppins ride, that'd be a huge let down. What better way to send him off then letting him finally realize the attraction that helped get him into Imagineering?
