In the Marvel universe, Disneyland exists. And it exists as an amusement park. Which means, if the Marvel stuff in DCA is "real", than the rest of the park is "fake".

I guess in the case of Marvel Land, this isn't a big deal- since none of the attractions at DCA are convincing in terms of selling a world or environment.

Which also means I'm glad they're keeping Marvel mostly out of Disneyland Park, since that kind of meta would be far to confusing and would do far more to harm Disneyland than enhance it.

Carsland seems awfully convincing as a world into itself. The rest of the park wouldn’t be fake by definition since it’s about California. So Marvel Land is really about a new Avengers headquarters in California as the actual state and not an amusement park. We shouldn’t have to over think this since it matters little and everyone ignores the backstory except for super fans that manages to destroy the concept entirely.

That is a reasonable assumption (based on a small amount of non-public info). It remains to be seen how robust the Stun-tronics are in a production environment.

You just see it in the concept art, and after that video of Chapek talking you see an actually human figure doing stunts. It makes sense. I’m unsure how you launch it and get it back every time without issue.

Most people might not intentionally think about the back story- but making sure everything within the park works together to further improve the overall park is essential to creating a quality theme park.

Cars Land is a great themed land, but it doesn't take place in California- so it weakens the idea that California Adventure is a California themed park.

If Marvel Land is supposed to take place elsewhere in California than California Adventure, that's just intentionally confusing and obtuse on the part of Imagineering. I'm not saying this isn't the case, just that it's a really lousy idea for a themed land inside a park.

Disneyland's greatest strength is that the lands don't take place in specific locations, but instead combine the best ideas from each given locale. New Orleans Square probably comes the closest to breaking this, but it's an extreme romanticism of the real New Orleans, and really couldn't be considered accurate or depicting a specific location in New Orleans.

Toontown is a made up location specifically for the park, with the idea that it's where the animated characters that are seen in the park live. It's a bit convoluted, but it kind of works and the land is easily forgettable.

You moved the goalposts since you previously said no attractions are “selling a world or environment”. Carsland is selling a world of Cars and we can safely call it California since this is in California Adventure.

The PR backstory doesn’t mention any other place in California. (“Disneyland's greatest strength is that the lands don't take place in specific locations” so your condition is met.) It’s odd that you’ll inject it. It’s in California as in California Adventure. “In California and Paris, Tony Stark is retrofitting two of his father’s Stark Industries sites into new hubs for training and innovation.”

Again, you’re just over thinking it and confusing yourself. Just accept the concept verbatim.
