Marvel comes to Disney Springs

Anything appearing inside a theme park in the US would be prevented form using the Marvel name as per the contract between Marvel and Uni. So, it makes perfect sense that any film preview in the parks or M&G would not use "Marvel". If the monorail in DLR had a wrap for an MCUJ film in use, it would also not be able to use the Marvel name as it enters a theme park.

A monorail wrap on the MK loop or anything in DS should be able to use Marvel branding as far as I can tell from the contract, so I'm surprised this took so long.
The new Doctor Strange preview uses the Marvel logo, or something to that effect. It was mentioned in one of the threads in the DHS sub-forum

How do we know they get anything? These ongoing discussions could've simply been clarifications of the contract. Maybe Disney could've used the marvel name on the store and on posters all along but didn't know it.
I would guess that whatever happened will be, if it is ever discussed externally, characterized as clarifications, even if some changes were more than that. Perhaps Disney was arguing that they could use Dr. Strange, Nick Fury, GotG, Vision, Thor, and Falcon in the parks, because whatever use Uni made of those characters (or their "families") in Orlando was too tenuous and minimal to activate the contractual restriction, and then they negotiated and agreed that some are OK, some are off limits, and that the "Marvel" brand can be used for merchandise but not attractions.

I suspect something like this is what has happened and prompted this change with using the Marvel branding

I had the impression that Universal wasn't going to give anything up, so I'm really curious to see what they get in response.

It may have just been a clarification of existing rights, with both sides agreeing what is or is not off limits.

That said, if Universal is building a new Avengers ride as rumored, there are potentially two issues with it:
1. It's not clear that Uni would be able to automatically use the MCU versions of the characters which they might be seeking to do. Some argue otherwise, but I think that those specific representations would not be available without a new deal. (My point with that is could Uni use the Fox versions of the X-Men or Fantastic Four without negotiating with Fox? If not, why could they use MCU characters without negotiating with Marvel Studios?)

2. Regardless of the version of the characters used, the Uni contract does not seem to allow them adding characters at this point. The contract has provisions preventing other theme parks from using characters in the "family" of characters Uni is using, but seems to indicate that Uni is limited to what they are already using at this point. So, if they want to use Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, et al. (in addition to Captain America and the Hulk, who they can and do use), they might need new permission from Marvel/Disney.

Point being, it's possible that Uni did have to "get something" for their own plans for Marvel.

Ummmmm Universal can use all those characters whenever they want. Thor, Iron man, hawk eye.... are all in the family they can use.

It's clear from the contract that other theme parks east of the Mississippi cannot use those characters, it's not 100% clear that Universal can use characters that they are not already using.

Sorry for the thread bump, but this store is pretty underwhelming. I get that there might be some legal issues involved, but the selection could have been better (I did pick up a Hulk mug though).

They were playing trailers for Black Panther, Infinity War, and Ant-Man & the Wasp... and all of them came out months ago. Nothing for Captain Marvel yet, but they did have a lot of action figures for Songbird, a character who has never shown up in the movies, so her presence was very confusing.

For how big the franchise has gotten, they need to get a larger space (with more things for adult women, I know HerUniverse has a lot of cute things).
