I'm totally taking advantage of the get-in-free-on-your-birthday promotion that Disney is offering. I've never been to "The World" in the Spring before. I'm thinking about going 3/18 - 3/24 which is about a month before Easter but is 'normal' season according to resort rates. Questions:

- What are my chances of getting an AP discount during those dates?
- What are the crowds like? I checked touringplans.com but Easter was early last year so it's hard to judge.
- What's the weather like? I don't remember from when I worked down there.
- Will the by doing PPP at MK during that time?

 Thanks in advance everyone!

AP Discount: I've no idea on that one... sorry

Crowds: I'm not sure when easter falls but depending on when you arrive in March it may be quite crowded but not crazy (unless your there over the two weeks covering Easter in which case it could be VERY busy). I would make sure you get those ADR's as soon as possible and expect a few long waits.

Weather: I imagine it will be fine again. Not too wet, not too hot, not too cold. That said, you might want to bring more than shorts and T-Shirts. Especially if you're staying out late.

PPP: As far as I know there has been no announcement about PPP in 2009. If they are going on then the dates will probably be posted in December or January.

Wouldn't it be nice if they changed it up a bit and did some other sort of special "party"??? Mickey Magic or something different just to shake things up a little. I know...daydreamin' again... :hammer:

THis is a good topic. Since we had to cancel our December trip we've been absolutely sick over it. We need our WDW fix. Because of my youngest starting middle school, all the time the kids have already missed with the 2 storm evacuations/school closings (which doesn't count as absences I'm just thinking of educational value), and the fact that Spring Break is the 2nd week of March I was thinkin' of pushing toward March 6-15. Because we'd be in a not-value rate season I was thinking of a split stay between POFQ and maybe Beach Club or something. I checked Touringplans.com today and it looks like it will start to get busy the final weekend we are there which is fine since we're usually done with the parks for the most part by then anyway.

We were also thinking of going the week of MLK Day but I know that week will be pretty busy as well. In comparing the week in March and MLK week on touringplans.com the numbers are pretty much the same just different in which weekend is the busy one. We also looked at some other weeks in January & February but with the Marathon, Superbowl in Tampa, Presidents Day and still try to work around the ending/beginning of the kids' grading periods it just makes more sense to go with either MLK week or Spring Break. I'm voting Spring Break.

So come on March peeps...share any info or advice you have.

Thanks muchly!

According to the historic data on MouseSavers.com AP discounts should be released in early January.

TouringPlans.com is saying 7s and 8s for your stay.

If I remember right, it'll be warm. Maybe a cool breeze in the morning or evening, but warming up very fast during the day.

I have no clue about PPP.

I hope that helps!

BTW, phooey on you for getting the birthday ticket. My b-day happens to fall on Easter Day next year. I will not face that level of crowds!

I've gone in march quite a few times and will be going in march 2009 as well (16-24) for my honeymoon. Hope to see you there, but to answer your questions. The weather in march is great warm during the day and a bit crisp at night, so a sweatshirt in the evenings is necessary. Easter falls on April 12 this year so you won't have many primary school spring breakers, but college spring breaks are still falling in mid March so the crowds won't be as bad as in the past, but it will still be quite busy. I'm not quite sure about the AP rates, but hey it never hurts to ask. And finally, there are no special parades such as PPP posted yet, but they usually run from january to mid march.
Hope this helps

As long as you don't o near Easter, March is honestly the perfect time to go. Perfect weather, warm enough to swim or o to the water parks, but not scorching. Crowds are also nice. You'll have to wait in line, but it won't be ridiculous.

This year I went during March, the 22 to the 29th with Easter landing on the 23rd and it wasn't that packed. It was crowded but nothing overwhelming. Other than that it was the best experience I've ever had there. I'm going back in March in 09 myself because it was so enjoyable. :sohappy:
