Marathon Weekend in January

The weekend of January 8 - 11th will be the Disney Marathon, where some 45,000 runners will race thru the parks. Question: Will I have any problem driving in, parking and entering Epcot at opening on Sunday January 11th? Anyone been there during the marathon? How long does it last? Thank you for your help.....

Yes, you will. There are several roads all around the parks that are closed for the Marathon. Traffic can be slow, with detours and backups. Just plan on it taking longer to get to the parks that morning.

We were at WDW during Marathon weekend in '07, and the major Epcot exit from World Drive was closed. We had to get off and take smaller surface streets to get where we wanted to go. It took longer, but the signage was actually pretty easy to read. We didn't get lost, and eventually ended up where we were going.
