Mike, i am really glad you started this thread ( epic title, by the way!).

You are in for a treat. DLR is something very special.
It is going to be fun to sit back and watch yet another WDW Vet *make the jump* to the West Coast and see some REAL magical settings...and i am not just talking about the Parks!
California is AWESOME.
You will love it !!

Have a great stress-free arrival to the Golden State...and may it put you in a *golden state of mind*.

Seriously, though, I hope you have a great time and post a bunch of photos. I'm in your boat, having grown up in Orlando a WDW brat and haven't made it out to DL yet (I can actually count how many times I've been out-of-state on two hands, most of them on business). Almost pulled the trigger on a last minute add-on last year when UCF went to the Fiesta Bowl, just couldn't swing the travel costs around New Year's.

While I've always heard WDW fans going to DL will be blown away, I'm looking forward to hearing your perspective.

I was in your boat about 4 weeks ago. Nearly 20 trips to WDW, but took my first trip to DLR about a month ago...and loved it. Already planning to go back in January, 2016! Can't wait to hear about your trip!

Ah yes.....the only good thing about arriving at LAX, in some opinions, is seeing this neat structure.
Too bad the uber-cool WDI designed restaurant that used to be inside of it is now closed.
*The Encounter* Restaurant was quite a thing.
Do a search online sometime to see what it looked like inside if interest strikes you.

I read an article about it on Disney & More once. The weather is absolutely perfect :cool:
