Making Dining Reservations

Not sure if I'm being a bit slow here, but is it possible to make dining reservations online? I always thought it was but I've just been looking on the WDW website and there only seemed to be a phone number. I remember making some ADRs by phone a few years ago and we were on hold for ages - not cheap from UK. We haven't bothered since but as its free dining when we're going next year we decided we'd better, now we are in a quandary!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The online dining reservations have been down for a few weeks now, but they are coming back. I just don't know when yet. If you are planning any hard to get reservations, your best bet is to call.

Actually, the on-line system is working. It has had some issues with retrieving previous reservations, but they're always there. The current disclaimer on the site says they'll be down again on the 16th/17th:

Outage Notification: Please be advised that we will be updating our systems to serve you better. During this enhancement, beginning on November 16, 2010 at 5 p.m. ET, online bookings and bookings through the Disney Reservation Center will be unavailable. We do expect to return to full functionality by the morning of November 17, 2010 and apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Please note that these dates and times are subject to change.

Trying to convince my daughter and friend which are the best places to go is fairly tricky too!

I love making my ADRs online!
Once you get used to the system, it's pretty easy.
There are a few reservations that you have to call for like CRT & special events like BBB or Grand Gatherings, etc.
