Im happy to say after a day of intense internet surfing I found marian's autograph on a very ancient disney character website (Website was shut down so i had to find a backup on wayback machine)

Oh my goodness, I think I know the exact website you were talking about. Before the age of Disney Vloggers, that website was the only way for Disney fans to know if a certain Disney Character was meetable at the parks. I remember visiting that site sometime in mid 2007 till early the 2010s. I remember Marie's autograph had her bow around the letter "I" complete with whiskers, while Chip and Dale's autographs used their teeth.

Maybe a stupid question but in this case: how does Mulan fit in all of this?

My answer was in response to a poster who said she would qualify as the niece of a King.

In real life that is not true. And neither would Mulan qualify either.

But Disney can name any heroine as a Princess as they see fit.

She doesn’t but the Disney Princess brand exists to make
money and they probably wanted an Asian character to market.
