About Murphy:
Murphy is an experienced operational leader, with more than 35 years at The Walt Disney Company, originally joining Disneyland Paris in 1991 during the resort’s pre-opening phase. He has risen through every dimension of resort operations, including theme parks, Disney Village, hotels, entertainment, merchandise, food and beverage, and franchise integration.

In 2021, Murphy was appointed vice president of Operations for Walt Disney Attractions Japan, where he worked in close partnership with Oriental Land Company at Tokyo Disney Resort — partnering on quality standards, guest experience, and expansion strategy. Murphy returned to Disneyland Paris in 2023 as senior vice president, Operations overseeing all operational strategy for the resort, including the delivery of the major expansion that introduced Disney Adventure World and World of Frozen to guests in March 2026. Christophe also brings valuable experience from Disneyland Paris Marketing & Sales, further broadening his perspective across the guest journey.

A few entirely random thoughts from my visit yesterday:

- The Teacups barely move anymore. I may be struggling with severe potato chips addiction but surely I can't be that weak. 😪 The ride is just no fun without its main gimmick. What are they even thinking here?

- Everybody and his brother were wearing Disney Adventure World clothes or bags. Which leads one to assume that to the general audience DAW is the new cool thing, something to be associated with.

- Rode the Molly Brown. I shan't regurgitate the same old discussion again, but what are they even thinking, this time at WDW? Such a majestic experience. In any castle park the largest moving object besides the train.

- Those Fantasyland roofs really pop. Bright and shiny.

- The castle fence looks neat. A better illusion than that nonsense wannabe Christo cladding on Pont Neuf.

- With the Lion King closed and rain closing the outdoor coasters and AL bridges much if the day, the west sides of Frontier and Adventureland literally and figuratively were dead ends. When DAW finishes the Lion King flume ride DLP really could do with some investments in this area. DLP looks and finctions as good as ever, but it's also very noticeable that the park hasn't had major new rides for decades, nor sufficiently filled in its roster or expansion plots with minor experiences.

No it's not just you, I noticed the same thing months ago

Is the new Tangled spinner just as bad?

I can assess when I have my annual visit next month but the Paris Teacups have always been very hard to spin. It takes at least two people putting in effort. Very different to the MK version. But it may have got even more difficult based on what you have said.

Do let us know your experience. I inevitably will have mixed up all my Teacup memories in my mind. I do remember DLP being tough, but not this tough. I don't mean it as a cynical fan, but as actual curiosity: what are they thinking, what is the thought here? Why would they do this / not adress this?

Tangled seems to spin, I didn't ride.

I actually had my first visit ever to DLP last week on a rainy Sunday. Had a fantastic time, absolutely adored the park, and completely understand the sweet spot it holds in those who adore it.

That said, 100% agree with this point you're making here. On a rainy day, the west side of the park felt borderline desolate and that was a bit eerie to me, even coming from a rain-averse home park like DLR. It absolutely needs a power-hitter on that side of the park to keep the pulse going in inclement weather.

The anchor they do have on that side, the Indy coaster, I personally don't love. Aside from being weather-sensitive it's too rough (as is the coaster on the opposite end of the park), and worst of all not nearly "Indiana Jones" enough (especially for any visitor who's been to Anaheim). Maybe the biggest letdown in the park for me, and I'm not sure I would have liked it much better backwards.

My big unfinished business at DLP is Big Thunder and the riverboat, both under refurbishment when I visited. Especially now that Orlando's river is gone, I'm glad there's a great coaster in the middle of Paris's to discourage any removal plan. Can't wait to ride it someday soon. But if they wanted to expand farther behind that area (and move or end the high-quality but incongruous Lion King show), that could be good. Wonder if that would mean an expansion of Frontierland or Adventureland or some new 3rd concept.

Snow White's been closed since the end of March and has now had its reopening pushed to the end of July

Is it just routine work being done?
