I wonder if that will get lifted. The CPs bring a lot of energy to these events, and buy a lot of merchandise.

Totally ridiculous that they have blocked out cast members and their families. When as mentioned before this becomes a fun social event for the cast and their families who get no say in them suddenly pulling third shift type hours.
Golly, remember that time Walt Disney had the idea for Disneyland because he wanted somewhere nice, safe and creative to take his family and his daughters to go play...funny that Disney don't feel the same way about their own families nowadays! And they don't exactly pay their cast enough to buy tickets.
I hope Universal and Seaworld screw them over. POOR GAME DISNEY. POOR GAME.

I hope the staff can use their main gate pass or whatever you call that thing.
Some of Disney's biggest fans go work there just for the pass. Sad to see them have to she'll out $100 for this, especially considering how little many of them are paid.
And most everyone who lives here has friends who work at Disney...nobody wants to see them shut out.

Not sure if that's the point--the blackout is for all of Memorial Day weekend--but it definitely will. May also keep ops from mutinying.

I think its because they cannot accurately predict the number of CMs and specifically here, CPs that will come.

So they should not run the CP buses or something so its difficult for hoardes to come but the cast members local with family shouldn't be shunned. Disney are getting more and more pathetic in my eyes.

Comp passes will still work though - Cast IDs are hardly ever blocked out though, right?

I recall someone saying that at DL they would not allow hopper passes to re-enter after midnight for people coming in from DCA. Good question though - it seems as though it should all be the same "day of business"

Sorry, I'm upset about this situation, I did know you were agreeing, just didn't reply well!
I have been a CP three times and would love to do this and it is the most fun in big groups, but to make it a little less accessible would make sense then screwing everyone over! So everyone is still allowed, but on your own transport etc, making it a little harder.

They often do in the summer and peak times, which is fine, but to do it on a special event I think is really, really poor on their part!

CPs usually take the bus to the contemporary and walk over. Its not impacting any guests.

Interesting, someone told me once the cast ID always works, its the main gate that gets the block. That is kind of stinky.

But I mean for the busy overnight portion the buses should only be entry for working cast members, therefore the ones that want to play have more difficulty getting there/getting home and it will limit some of them?

That is right, they never block cast ID's, only maingates. And I highly doubt this will stick, they have been lifting maingate blockouts left and right.....Lets see how long this lasts. I am just glad I still have comp tickets, sad I have to use it on myself but I will still be going.

MEP is the one that gets the block. We can get in, but we cannot get guests in for free with our MEP. Lots of upset co-CP's who have family coming during the next few months..

Not true, they blocked IDS all three summers I worked there, they do it in the real peak two weeks of summer!
