Magic Kingdom is not the "Happiest Place on Earth"

I've been seeing this unfortunately common mistake on the Internet lately, especially here. Magic Kingdom in Florida is not the "Happiest Place on Earth." It is the "Most Magical Place on Earth", however. Disneyland in California is the "Happiest Place on Earth", and no, they can't be interchangeable.

Thank you for sharing that. It's amazing how many subtle nuances there are when it comes to Disney, whether it be past or present. One thing I love about these forums is the number of knowledgeable "historians" (so to speak) who can set the record straight for all the rest of us!

"Magic Kingdom" was often used as an unofficial nickname for Disneyland before Walt Disney World was built. The official tagline for Disneyland is "The Happiest Place On Earth", while the tagline for Magic Kingdom is "The Most Magical Place On Earth".

I also see some wiki answers that support Disneyhead'71's picture as well.

Does anyone have someone they can email to get the "official" answer from WDW?

Thank you for drawing attention to this. Always bugs me when people get it wrong. The tag lines do seem to sum up the character of each park and indeed are not the same.

I'd love to see a day when "Vacation Kingdom of the World" would again be an apt description for Walt Disney World.
It is still used at times today. On a couple of the Travel Channel WDW specials and one of my recent vacation planning DVDs of the past few years, the naarator references WDW as the Vacation Kingdom of the World.

I've also seen people post questions about Walt Disneyland before.

I've seen this, too, and it drives me crazy. Seriously, when has it ever been referred to as Walt Disneyland?

I also can't stand when people spell the names wrong (Disney Land, Disneyworld, Carsland) and when people call Disneyland "DLP" or "Disneyland California."

What is your position on Parc Disneyland?
