Hello peeps. :)

Gah!
BunBun...never name a son after his father.
I'm named after my dad (same EXACT name...first, middle, and last), and it is a royal pain the tush.
Seriously...we have the hardest time figuring out whose mail is whose.
Like on a daily basis. :brick:
It's hard here too...I'm named after my dad. The hardest thing are phone calls. "Ok, now what's the spelling on that name?"

Bob is named after his dad and our first born son is named after him. Same exact name.

I know!! There are FOUR "Tom"s in Marc's family. Waaaaay too confusing. I think each child should get their own identity. If you'd like to honor someone with a name, use the middle name - that's what it's there for (Well, that and it lets you know when you're really in trouble )

My dad was the second son in his family, so he doesn't have his father's name, but I was my dad's first (and only child.)
(My mom was previously married, so that's how my brother and sister came to be.)

Hello Vince!

That stinks!! Did you ever get things for him - like Army recruitment stuff? I once knew someone who was named for her Dad, and they had the hardest time convincing people that she was a girl :dazzle:

I think we all feel that way at certain points in our life. Like, what the hell?!

George isn't the Valentine's Day type, and that's fine.
He's my guy every day. :)

Aw...that's so sweet!

Doesn't it make you want to scream and run to the county court to legally change your name?

Eh...I'm actually really proud to be named after my dad. But then again, it's not the exact same spelling, so it makes it my own.

Nope...not for things like that. But with business things. Since he owns his own business we had some trouble. I'd have to ask for the spelling in case it was actually someone for me. (Usually not though)

Yeah...that would be really tough. Is that why you go by Freddy then? Does your dad go by something else?

My MIL calls her husband Tom "ET" for Elder Tom, and her son Tom "YT" for Younger Tom. However Marc's grandfather is a Tom too, and that's when it really gets confusing! Oh, and my nephew is technically one too, but they call him by his middle name so we're not all totally confused. :dazzle:

Yikes!!! That is a lot of Toms!!! Good night! I'd be confused too!

That's exactly what we did. Joel's full name is Joel Michael Lantz. And he gets the whole thing when he's messed up!
