That's how we used to do it when we were kids. It's about the same amount of time from NE, maybe a couple hours longer. We'd load up the Winnebago and just drive til we go there. :dazzle:

We still do it but we stop every couple of hours.:dazzle: I just want to get there. Who cares if someone needs to go.:D

Personally I love long car rides and road trips... HOWEVER...

imagine flying down... spending 7 days doing spring break activities... then driving home because there was a huge storm and your flight was delayed three days :brick::brick::brick:


worst experience of my life... okay it wasn't disney, but it was Daytona Beach... actually even further...


by 2 a.m. I remember being like "oh my god i'm in maryland... what in gods name am I doing right now..."




by the way Betty, have an AWESOME trip if I don't get the opportunity to tell you that before you leave!!!

And man, you are so right! Valentine's Day when we were kids was so buckets!!! I loved the cubbies and everything. It was so much fun!

:dazzle: Thank goodness my family never drove straight through. We would divide the drive over 2 days. Then again, with 10 people in one car...someone would definitely kill someone else if we attempted that. 18 hours in a car is bad enough, let alone doing it in one day.

I'm hoping to take 2 days coming back. We have to leave Saturday anyway, so I figure if we just drive to VA that day, the second day won't be too bad. At least on our way down, DS will be with us to help keep us awake, but coming back it will be just Dave and me, and we'll be tired from all the stuff all week....
