I posted this thread for anyone who is going/has gone to see the new Macy's Holiday Parade at the studios. It sounds pretty cool and I can't wait to see some pictures of it and hear some good reviews! Happy Holidays Everyone!

There are going to be several balloons displayed in the old Boneyard area. You will be able to walk up and make close-up pictures of the balloons.

The parade is evidently going to start at 6PM (although I have recieved conflicting information that says 5PM).

I was cast in it today...

and left within 2 hours of rehearsals starting.

It's gonna be cool, but I'd rather see it than be in it

I won tickets to go see it. People that live locally should give listening to XL 106.7 a try. The music sucks, but it seems like most people feel this way, and it's really easy to win stuff from them. Three weeks ago I won tickets to see Suessical the Musical at the bob carr, two weeks ago I won the universal tickets, and on monday I won 4 tickets to the osborne festival of lights at mgm...

Now back on topic. I'll probably go on sunday to see that parade, and I'll film it. I'll export plenty of pictures from the movie, and put them on a website.

Does anyone know the offical time that the Parade starts? I've heard 11:00, 12:00, 5:00 and 6:00...

Just wondering....

Are these the same floats and baloons that are used on the Thanksgiving Day Parade?

Thanks for any info!

The majority of the parade elements, including costumes, some of the floats and all of the balloons are the exact same ones used in the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Universal has added elements of their own, however.

ALso, the parade is at 5 PM, not 6 as someone on here mentioned.

Thats cool. I always liked the Macy's parade, this kinda gives people a chance to see it without having to go to New York and stand in a massive crowd of people all on one day.

Aren't some of those balloons really big? I suppose Universal's streets are wide enough for all of them.

Color me clueless....

I didn't know that "Suessical the Musical " was a real event... Thought it was made up for that episode of "Will & Grace"! Go figure...

Guess I really do learn something new every day!

Only nine of the smaller balloons are in the Universal parade. Several of the extra large ones however, are in the former Boneyard area being displayed.

Even with the smaller balloons, at least one large sign had to be removed, as well as the large statue in New York - to give clearance for the balloons/floats.

I'm not doing Macy's. I was supposed to, but after seeing how unorganized management was, I declined the position.

But to answer your question, I was supposed to be a Stiltwalker

that looked like it would have been slightly entertaining.

of course they could have added some more to the parade with a few more small baloons and make it longer than about 15 min.
