Looking at the "Be Our Guest" restaurant concept..one thing caught my eye. If you look to the right side of the painting, you see Lumiere being carted by tray to a table, much like "Ratatouille" in Paris at Epcot.

Do you think Lumiere is up next for Disney's Living Character Initiative?

I think it would be great to see this. They've already experimented well with Remy, Beaker and Dr. Honeydew, and Lucky the Dinosaur.

(I still think Wall-E could be at the parks, despite what the lawyers think. He could climb up on a pedestal, away from people's feet!)

Sure seems like it would be based on the conept art. Who knows, maybe all of the characters will come to life one way or another.

Certainly would be a great touch. The concept art looks very nice. I'm pretty excited to see everything once all the construction is done.

Although I think it was just a nice touch for the concept art, if they did something to that affect, the Be Our Guest restaurant would no doubt be my favorite. It's already a must-dine just for the experience.

The key expression here is "concept art". :D

Well, the idea is not too far off. We've already had breakthroughs with Wall-E, Luxo and Remy. Maybe not Lumiere, but I think we will see some new Living Character Initiative types in this area. Anyone remember that special with the "free-walking" prototype they had? It's just a dream away!

I agree i think this new FL will be a big place for living characters..........Sebastian, Lumière, timothy the mouse, gus gus, thumper.....all are possibilities i think. This is disney opportunity to try out some of these characters, they wont scare little kids and people will like them alot.

You have a point, but I think a "living" Lumiere would be a step above all the other characters mentioned. We can only hope! :sohappy:

Oh Lord if we could only have a "living" or character of Gus Gus my husband's dream would be complete! Gus Gus is actually his favorite character.

They've already experimented well with Remy.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! They did Remy?! Pic please!

Anyway, on topic... it would be super coll if they had a real-time animatronic Lumiere as your host!

It may just be concept art... but I would bet on it. :) It certainly makes sense, and is the next logical step given all of the recent developments in the Living Character Initiative.

Here's a youtube video of Remy in action, and a pic as requested...

We saw Remy on our last trip and he was awesome. The art of Lumiere looks like its the same kind of deal only a bit more complicated because Remmy didn't talk, only gestered. I don't think you could have Lumiere NOT talk. Still, I think its possible and would be really cool to see.

it would be incredible if his wicks were lit with a real flame and not a flickering light but then u might run into some lawsuits where an idiot kid try to touch the flames, burns his hands, and his parents sue disney because of it

well the trash can in TL used to have the swinging panel move up and down like a mouth while rolling around so making lumiere move and talk should be that difficult for Disney

The talking trash can is so easy to figure out ebcause apparently the operator is in black wearing black sunglasses near the area.

They've come a LONG way...

btw, WHERE'S WALL-E?!
