Pooh's Honey Hunt at TDL uses a trackless system called LPS (Local Positioning) that uses a web embedded in the floor and a computer to track and instruct the movement of the vehicle. Here's my idea...a restaurant where the "tables" are actually ride vehicles (Think big tea cups with a table in the middle) that move through a themed environment very slowly, and can also turn slowly as well. The computer would be able to let the servers know where the "tables" are at any given time and they could be marked or simply have table number stands on the tabletop. I had the idea while eating at a revolving rooftop restaurant last night. The tables had table number sign so the servers could find them and I thought wouldn't it be fun to take it to the next the level...combine a dark ride and restaurant. You could do it with a tracked system, but it seems the trackless LPS would be better suited as you could have more seemingly random movement. No meal would follow the same path through the restaurant twice! What do you think and what themes would you like to see? A Rainforest Cafe built this way would be cool or it could be a "House of Mouse" with a mix of everything Disney. The possibilities are endless.
