Our trips and days tend to follow the same format, so I thought I'd try to structure this report a little differently. An idea I had (and an alternative TR title) was Disney by the numbers. I thought I'd just track certain experiences that can be counted. However, I did not take daily notes or many pictures this trip, so we'll see how it goes.
This post will be text heavy and filled with information that people may or may not be interested in, so my sincerest apologies in advance for being boring!

We had an 8:45 a.m. Delta flight out of Detroit Metro Airport. We like to be early, so our Metro Car picked us up at 5:45. E travels A LOT for work, so it makes for easy travel as he gets a lot of perks and upgrades because of his "status". Our first lounge of the day was the Delta Sky Lounge. It makes waiting for the flight so much more tolerable. Thanks to E, we were upgraded to First Class and the flight was uneventful and on time.
I chose not to use the Mears shuttle and have groceries delivered. Instead I booked Grayson Town Car and a grocery stop was included. I highly recommend this company. Idrees, our driver, had texted me and asked me to let him know when we were deplaning. He greeted us as we got off the escalator, and helped us with our bags. The Publix stop was quick and we got everything we needed. Idrees and E chatted about soccer on the ride.
This may be TMI, but it also may be helpful to someone. At our age, we are well aware of what our bodies need to feel their best. One of the things that makes both E and I feel our best is to have protein drinks in the morning. I also need coffee, but I hate using park time to wait in line at Starbucks. So I brought some plastic cups with lids and straws from home and mixed my vanilla protein drink with cold brew to drink on the way to the parks each morning. Bonus, I cleaned out the straw after my morning coffee and used it later in the day to replace a paper straw!
On our ride to The Boardwalk (around 12:45), I received a room ready text! Luck seemed to be on our side, but would we love our room location? I had used chat on the DVC website to make a room request. My requests were 1) as high a floor as possible and 2) close to the elevator.
We were gifted room 5048. Because it's on the bend of the building, it is a little bigger than the usual Deluxe Studio rooms. The bathroom is one HUGE room with the vanity inside the room. We were in awe and could not believe our luck! Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of the room, but this was our view.
The daily rainstorm occurred whilst we were unpacking, another stroke of luck. After freshening up a bit, we took the bus to Disney Springs to enjoy happy hour at STK, lounge number 2 for today.
*This has nothing to do with the trip, but I didn't want to make a separate post for it. When I was going through some stuff, I found this purchased photo from Tower of Terror. I believe it was from our 1997 trip. I had forgotten that ToT used to have lap bars, except for the middle back row seat. They used to make it seem like it was so dangerous to have that seat and E was thrilled to have gotten it!
