In 2001, I stayed at WDW for about three weeks. It was over Christmas and New Years. I think we got there around the 15th or so and left on the 6th. It was a GREAT time.
We did a lot of day trips to different places. Also, the length of time there made it possible to do some "unusual" things around WDW. For instance, we took a day and toured all of the deluxe resorts. It was a brilliant day, and something I'd recommend to everyone! We took whatever transportation we could...trying mostly for monorails where available or boats. It was a bit of a pain getting from one resort to another - many trips to the parks (whatever was closest) to transfer. We could have taken the car, but what fun would that have been?
In addition, we were able to visit KSC which sometimes gets left off the list if I'm only there for a short time.
One day, we went to Tampa (because we had tickets to Tran Siberian Orchestra) and spent a day there, just kind of checking it out. Incidentally - if you like Rock 'n Roll and Christmas DO NOT MISS AN OPPORTUNITY to see TSO. I've seen them three times now, and will see them again this Christmas. You can get some samples by visiting
www.trans-siberian.com . Anybody else ever see them? Incredible shows. Rock Opera - Christmas Theme.
