Lights of Winter

Does anyone remember when they first started putting up the Lights of Winter arches leading to the World Showcase?

The "show" is awesome, especially coupled with Mannheim Steamroller. Disney has always impressed me with the quality and boldness of their outdoor soundsystem.

Got in an arguement today about when they first appeared. I think I lost!

On a slight variation on this topic, how long do the lights stay up? My wife said that she went in Feb. and they were still up. We are going for Presidents' Week, and I was hoping that the archs stay up.

I remember when I was younger, I thought they were a permanent structure. We only went during Thanksgiving, so whenever we went, they were up! :lol: Beautiful structure, though.

Major draw for family and friends. Adds to the overall "feel"!
Couldn't remember when they made their debut, though.

I thought it was around '98, but my "other" source says earlier.
