Let the magic shine!

With announcements about the upcoming 30th Anniversary celebrations coming soon, I thought it was time to start a new thread about it.

Here's a live stream link to the press conference, set at 11 AM CET/5 AM EST/2 AM PST:

NEW: A new daytime show called "Dream... and Shine Brighter!" will premiere in time for the 30th anniversary. Taking place in the Central Plaza, the show will feature more than 30 characters and dancers, colorful floats and costumes, specially-designed iridescent costumes for Mickey and his friends, and a new celebration theme song ("Un monde qui s'illumine"). The show will highlight the themes of laughter, passion, and dreams, the three pillars of the 30th anniversary celebrations.

Well.

Aside from Natacha’s opening speech being written by a Chapek cronie, very promising.

Good job we’re booked 😁
It's definitely more low-key than the 20th/25th anniversaries ngl, but that is expected. Surprising that there is nothing announced for the Studios' 20th anniversary in March, except for Minnie's Stella McCartney pantsuit and Avengers Campus' summer opening.

In a parallel universe I dare say they hoped to have the Avengers area open by the end of March.

This is what Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration should had been.
Really? They are getting a (cool) preshow to existing fireworks, a new daytime show, a rethemed RnRC, and the Spidey ride everyone complains about. And the Avengers content is several months in, so if we include that, we need to include GotG in WDW’s 50th. WDW objectively is providing more.

Both celebrations should have more. Still happy to experience both, however.

I think the major offerings for either resort are fairly similar. If anything, WDW got more new/new-ish products for their celebration while Paris has to make do with their 5-year old major products from the 25th in 2017.
  • Daytime Parades
    • WDW MK: Mickey's Celebration Cavalcade (new-ish), Royal Princess Processional (new-ish)
    • DLP: Disney Stars on Parade (pre-existing)
  • Daytime Shows
    • WDW MK: Let the Magic Begin (new)
    • DLP: Dream... and Shine Brighter! (new) — okay, DLP wins here. Based on the press release, this show sounds more structured than the welcome show at MK's.
  • Nighttime Shows
    • WDW MK: Beacons of Magic (new), Disney Enchantment (new)
    • DLP: Disney D-Light (new pre-show), Disney Illuminations (pre-existing)
  • Character Collections
    • WDW (MK, EPCOT, DHS, DAK): Fab 50 (new; 50 characters)
    • DLP (only Disneyland Park): Gardens of Wonder (new; 30 characters)
