Last 2 weeks in August

Hey, we're in Florida for the last 2 weeks in August. Staying onsite at WDW but ave Uni passes for 14 days.

Does anyone have any thoughts on crowd levels and whether express passes would be a good idea? We're going as a group of 8 (2 families with children 2,4,5,6).

Any advice gratefully received.

You guys should see medium crowds. We've followed your same plan since my kids were your kids' age, but now my oldest is 22. The only thing is that your young ones may not have as much to do at Universal. There's a few rides that you should make the height requirement, but Universal is geared more to teens/grown-ups. If any of your kids are close to the height requirement, try getting thick-soled sneakers (like Sketchers) and before they get their height checked, slip a piece of dense foam in the heel of the shoe; it adds 2 - 3 inches....been there.
