Know-it-alls are annoying

My co worker does this a lot, she ended up taking 5 days off in the end, she then said she had a headache so she must have had a bad reaction to the antibiotics. She is known for lying about illnesses. Btw, she's only 32, I'd hate to see how frail she is in years to come! Today was her 1st day back. I've over it now anyway!

Sounds bad :(
Well, all I can say is I was 12 when I had it and it was pretty bad. It usually comes from an uncaught UTI, which then moves up, but other things can cause it too.
It's unfortunate, but age quite often has nothing to do with how sick you get. I know a woman who's 50 and has MS, and my grandmother is in better shape than she is. By her own admission too.
That was a bad year for me...kidney infection, had to have tonsils out because of recurring tonsillitis...ugh. I get sick a lot too, I just try not to complain. Except for today. All I did was cough and people said, "Are you sick?" and I responded with, "No duh." Called my doctor for cough medicine since the over the counter stuff obviously wasn't working...seems to be better now. Just feel like a walking pharmacy.

FWIW.. when I had a kidney infection I was hospitalized for 4 days. Went into the ER in complete convulsions and shaking uncontrollably. I don't think I was able to eat or drink until like day 3.

They can be nasty :(
I had to go to the ER when I had mine too. Except the ER doctor missed it...my mother took me to another doctor, who is now my primary care physician, who caught it. He was the fourth doctor and knew exactly what it was as soon as I described my symptoms. Needless to say, we didn't pay that ER bill...
