Know-it-alls are annoying

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say how much I love you all. :D Okay, now that's out of the way.

Occasionally I'll post on a different forum if I need multiple opinions quickly. I won't say which forum, but I will say it's a DVC member forum. Whenever I post here, I always receive opinions and lots of them, and 9 times out of 10, they answer my question! On this other forum that will not be named, I've noticed that I occasionally get answers, but 9 times out of 10, they're picking apart whatever I said and telling me why it's a terrible idea and what I should do differently because it makes more sense. I can't stand a know-it-all!

Once again, I love all of you. Please, never change!

This thread is uncalled for and a terrible idea. You should not have created it. Bashing another forum even if it is unnamed (think I have figured out which) is against the rules here at WDWm! Maybe you should have worded your inquiries a bit better for clearer responses.

See what I did there? ;)

I was actually a little heartbroken when I read the first part of this!

Unfortunately, this unsolicited advice is the way of all discussion forums - some more than others, but it happens all the time.

For example, a poster will ask which brand of stroller have people used and liked for their 4- 5 year old. They will get a couple of responses with a brand name, and even more about why their 4- 5 year old should not be in a stroller. ;)

I know another WDW forum, not the one you're talking about that is just the same, it also has a chat section where people talk about everything! No matter what you start a thread about and what simple bit of advice you ask for most people are rude!

Yesterday I started a thread asking about re-freezing meat, I had started to defrost some mince for dinner yesterday but developed a headache so changed my mind about making dinner so I put it back in the freezer, my OH said you shouldn't do that but I thought you could so I asked on the forum, you wont believe some of the rude obnoxious comments I got a few of the posters ended up being unpleasant to each other! I don't bother with the forum unless I have a question to ask!

Thank god for WdwMagic!

Well they shouldn't of course and you must be a terrible parent to even think of doing that.

LOL. You guys are crazy. I do like this forum.

And I do, however, understand the feelings behind strollers... my cousin and his wife rented a DOUBLE stroller for their young child, so that their 9-year-old older child could also ride. I said, "You're kidding!" It was everything that I could do to keep my mouth shut while the husband (my cousin) struggled to navigate them through everything at the end of the day so that the 9-year-old could ride while she was "tired"... never mind about my cousin. The day before that, the wife had demanded that my cousin pick up the nine-year-old to carry her down Main Street, USA, at the end of the day, because "she is tired" and has been waling all day! He said something like, "And I haven't?," but he lost!

In case you did not get an answer on the other forum.....The short answer is no, you should not refreeze meat. This link will go into the science as to why you do not want to do it.

The thing that annoys me the most is when you ask a question on a forum and they just tell you to read. Sometimes they will go on about how if you use their search engine you will find your answer. To me it would just be easier if they answered your question. That is what forums are for I thought.

I honestly find it hard to believe that people are more rude on other forums. This is easily the worst corner of the internet I have ever experienced. I chat on several other topics and I never experience the personal attacks, passive aggressive behaviour, and downright viciousness I witness and endured on here on a regular basis. I stay because most of the people are nice, reasonable, and informative, but the small percentage that aren't are downright horrible. If other sites are worse than I can't imagine visiting.

Seriously?! The people on this board are the most kind and helpful that I've ever encountered on the internet. They just make me happy! It's like my family on the internet while my fiance is gone for two months!

I do not visit other Disney forums with any regularity, but there is no shortage of scurrilous behavior on other forums. This forum is by far the nicest place this side of the cute overload comment section.
