Good point! Did you let the manager know that maybe a shuttle to that end would be a good thing for them to implement? Can't change it if people don't make suggestions, and hopefully you will get a survey where you can let them know as well.
Yes, absolutely. Part of the problem is that half of the 'wings' extend into the savannah, so it's not as simple as another bus stop. We all filled out surveys & talked to CMs at the desk, who agreed that it's an issue they're looking for solutions on.

Aren't there pathways for service vehicles and pargos on the bottom stories?
That's exactly what I was thinking. I imagine every time someone requests room service, the CMs in the lobby fantasize about running across the savannah rather than take that long trek. There must be a pathway for vehicles to use.

When we stayed there last year, we were about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way down the hall. It was quite a hike.

The thing I have more of a 'beef' with the resort is the lack of QS, and the cramped store with limited options.

The pool was nice, but the day we were there, the jets on the hot tub weren't working, so it was like sitting in a large bath tub with other people.. It was a ways from our room, so we didn't return. (Our group wasn't much for swimming, so there wasn't much interest in going anyway..)

Overall, I very much enjoyed the resort, and would stay there again, either there or at Jambo house.

This is something I was super confused about when I stayed there. I didn't see any QS offered, but two members of my group were ill and had to stay in the room for one day of our trip; they walked out to the bar by the pool, and said they found a decent selection of food. Both got very decent looking meals (salads, deserts, drinks) as QS on the meal plan there. I didn't have time to check it out myself.

We stayed at Kidani once... our savannah view studio was just INSANELY far from the lobby. Like, I laughed it off when I heard the hallways were long. So what I thought- I'm young and healthy and a long hallway is no big deal. NOT. It felt like our room was so far from all the amenities that the idea of just visiting the gift shop was out of the question unless we were headed out for the day. The underground parking garage was nuts too. I loved the room and the savannah but I will never stay at Kidani again.... Jambo house would be infinitely better.

It is a long walk between the lobby and the end units and most in between. Our room was probably about 85% of the way around to the end (I'd have to go back and dig a lil bit to see what room # it was). There definitely weren't too many rooms left until the end unit.

There's little that they can do to lessen the walk. The vehicle trails are for the grounds crew and animal caretakers. You won't see those paths used for anything but those specific purposes because it poses too much risk to the animals.

The design is what it is. If you don't like it, don't stay there again or request a different type of room. I didn't care for the walk after all the miles of walking during the day, but it's not the end of the world and made plopping down on the sofa/bed that much better, lol.

Save the cash and go Value...;)
I really liked staying at the Pop Century and All-Star Music. Comfortable, simple, smartly laid out, and they embraced the fact that they're just motels. But with an 8-person group thru DVC, your options are more limited if you want to keep them all in one room.

The design is what it is.
It's a great design for optimizing the view of animals on the savannah.
