I was in the parks this morning before making the 3 1/2 hour journey back to south Florida.
While there I took more pictures than I can even talk about, and they will be posted later.
First night we went to Wishes and I can say I was amazed, I am a fireworks nut (by my wife's estimation) and before I saw this, Illuminations was BY FAR my favorite show. Now there's no comparison. The second night we went to see Illuminations and I found myself bored and noticing the shortness of the show. Wishes is something to behold and we went back to see it every night afterwards. Just amazing. Tearful, heart filled and brings magic back to the Kingdom.
The second day I went to test out Mission Space. I can honestly say that to all of you who are ruining this ride for people because you are saying it's too intense, shame on you. Because of reading this site my wife refused to ride Mission Space and never got to experience it. I myself love rollercoasters but after reading some stuff about the ride found myself sitting in the pod nearly hyperventalating from nervousness. The ride was something to behold as well. It was truly amazing. Not at all scary, and not at all too intense. I found it to be quite a neat experience but don't even know if I would categorize it as THRILL by the definition some were using. MIssion Space is simply amazing though.
LIving seas now transformed to Nemo is pretty cool.. I however just get bored pretty quickly by the LIving Seas. My wife loves it though.
we went and did "Honey I shrunk the Audience" because my wife had never seen it. Well folks, after seeing the other 3D movies at Disney now, I can say that this movie is just outdated and really not that much fun for us personally. We both left just glad we were done with it.
I could see "Soarin" back behind the scenes and it seems pretty big, but nothing special to see. Just alot of metal.
We ate at LeCellier and it is now my favorite restraunt over San Angel Inn. They are both great, but the 14 Oz New York STrip Steak was the biggest and best steak I've ever eaten. Unreal!
Test Track is still great as ever!
Every night we went back to the Magic Kingdom because it was open until 11:00 pm. The park was PACKED however, I waited to ride the big rides until after Wishes. After Wishes we went directly to Philharmagic (go around the sides of the castle after fireworks, because they make you wait about ten minutes if you want to go through the castle). We waited only 5 minutes for PHilharmagic. Philharmagic was awesome! I loved it! My wife loved it! I love the Disney characters! Piece of advice................don't sit in the front or on the sides, you do lose some of the effect. Sit middle back.
However, something I noticed, the screen is huge! however, on the center portion is actually 3D.
Afterwards we still got to do Splash Mountain and Space Mountain before 11:00. Space Mountain and Splash Mountain had no waits, and were complete walk ons.
Went back the next night and did the same thing............waited til after Wishes. Did Splash Mountain twice in a row (didnt even have to get off the log) and did Space Mountain, with no wait.
Last night did the same thing, except Space Mountain had about a 15 minute wait. Also did Buzz with no wait.
Things I noticed that need work:
I'm not slamming on anything but just notice some things.
Haunted Mansion is in real need of an internal refurb. Mainly the elevators. The elevators are there for the effect of the walls stretching, however, there are dents all along the photo frames up on the walls and it ruins the effects and it is obvious that you are not moving and the wall is simply rising. I was with 2 first timers and they noticed it right away. Also the CM's that were loading the elevators (two girls, one from one elevator and one from another) were chatting and laughing while we were loading and she missed the cue to shut the door and while the walls were stretching the door was wide open. (that was a second night)
Splash Mountain was great! It is refurbished and all the things are working, except the lifts. The first lift kept breaking down and jerking. Boats were slamming into each other (every night I rode it). At one point before slippery falls or whatever it is, we got stuck and were stuck for 20 minutes. NObody let us off and they just kept saying stay seated. We were the only one's there. People on our boat were yelling mad because they kept telling us to stay seated and nobody was standing. It wasnt a recording.
Big Thunder Mountain railroad was broken down non stop on this trip. I didnt even get to ride it from the breakdowns.
The Haunted Mansion movie set was awesome. I know some think it's nothing great but I thought it was very cool. It's just too bad you don't get to take pictures when they let you walk freely.
