We are officially in LOVE with DCL! It was AMAZING! My husband isn't a huge disney fan or a fan of cruising (he's a sailor so thinks it's dumb to vacation on boats when he works on one lol) but even he loved that boat. It was gorgeous and so CLEAN! I could hardly find a flake of dust! Our room (8590) was amazing and HUGE! It was in a perfect spot. The CMs were just awesome. I can't think of anyone who had a negative attitude. The restaurant staffs went out of their way to accomodate my son's milk protein intolerance, making him all kinds of milk free dishes that weren't even on the kids menu. Our last dinner, they brought him a buffet-like spread of assortment of dishes, including milk free chicken strips and a bowl of milk free fried shrimp. They made sure he had a dessert every night just for him since the kids menu was all ice cream. The shows were spectacular with my fav being Villians Tonight, although the guy playing Scar for the 830 showing was just comically terrible. lol. The elevators were annoying, esp the people taking the elevator to go down one floor. The purfume/cologne bathers were just bad (seriously, people. You bathe in water and soap, not cologne! Covering yourself in Axe will NOT get you girls!) There were a couple of guests that were downright aggravating, but, hey, it was THEIR vacation, right? lol. There was a Jamacian bartender at Currents up on deck that made a mean Mango Mojito. Our servers, Ekkaphon and Francia, were spot on and funny. The cruise Director was hilarious. My husband and I got a trip out of the amount of jokes CMs made about how expensive the DCL cruises are. lol.

IMO DCL should skip Nassau completely. I would rather have just spent 2 days at CC. That island was just dreamy.

I found the Aquaduck disappointing. Even my kids thought it was slow and underwhelming. I think the hype killed it. I was also a bit disappointed in the fireworks. It seemed very short.

Our MAW hostess was Ni Wayan. She did all kinds of special things for my son. My husband and I have vowed to get us back on that boat. lol. Even if we have to actually finance a vacation. ahahaha. I even considered cancelling our World trip next week to book another cruise.

All in all, 5 out of 5 stars. I couldn't think of any critiques for the comment card at the end. Nothing.

First off, I absolutely LOVE your avatar. Wicked is my favorite! :D

Ok, now back on topic. It is so hard not to get hooked on DCL! I'm so glad you all had such a great time! I've been twice now and have two cruises booked for next year. I've gotten completely hooked. My husband could just go on DCL and never go back to WDW and be perfectly happy. I still have such a love for WDW but DCL is really stealing some of that love. I'm sad to admit that but the cruises are just so amazing. The customer service is so phenomenal. And yes, Castaway Cay is dreamy! I could also trade Nassau for two stops at Castaway Cay. I hope you are able to get back on a DCL cruise soon!

My husband feels the same way! He would rather cruise than go to WDW! OMG I hate the cologne bathers! It's disgusting. I also agree on skipping Nassau. I would rather just stay on the ship than go there. And I totally agree with 2 stops at Castaway Cay! That is one of the reasons why we chose the date for the Family cruise that we did because we have 2 stops at Castaway Cay!!

I agree with two stops at CC and ditch Nassau. As far as aggravating guest, well you'll find them everywhere unfortunately, so you just need to ignore them and just go enjoy your vacation.

The fireworks are short, but the fact they even have them is fabulous. Setting them off from a moving ship has the potential for many things to go wrong. So, the less time they are shooting them off the less chance of an accident of sparks blowing back onto the ship. Also, they may not be able to bring that much of them on board because fireworks are explosives and in a larger quantity would be equivalent to a bomb. As careful and diligent as they are, accidents still can happen, so imagine it's more of a safety issue.

I love Villain's Tonight because the show changes a little bit here and there each time depending upon what's going on in the news/Hollywood, etc. Hades, cracked a joke about the three witches being the Kardashian's and the last time I had seen the show was before they became popular so it wasn't in it. I think that's great that it gets little updates here and there.

Awesome. Great post!

What other shows are on the Dream besides Villian's Tonight?

They have Believe which brings tears to my eyes every time I see it! they also have the Golden Mickey's which I enjoy very much as well as Villians tonight which was already mentioned. They are all great shows and Believe is definitely my favorite!

Great to hear about your cruise. We are taking our first cruise in June and we were so excited for it. I really laughed about your cologne comment, as I teach middle school boys and they practically bathe in Axe! I am intrigued by your mention of mango mojitos too, as I love mojitos (their lower sugar content doesn't make my blood sugar spike much and they are yummy), so I might have to try this one.

Awesome. I love the shows on the Fantasy and am looking forward to seeing the ones on the Dream.

OP you just got me very excited about my upcoming cruise. Hoping I will have a great experience like you did!

This has been our usual experience, as well. We're Platinum Castaway Club members at this point, with 15 DCL cruises under our belts. As we've become more accustomed to the high quality of service and accommodations, we've become a bit -- well -- nit-picky. We notice when things aren't as perfect as they're supposed to be. Even with our nit-pickiness, we are almost always blown away by how great the whole experience is.

(A note about being nit-picky: our dining room server during our last cruise confided to us that they get a little nervous when they see the Platinum lanyards at their table. They know they have to be at the top of their game.)

DCL is da bomb as the kids would say :)
I hate to break it to you. . . but no kid would say that. :) At least, not since 1995 :p

You'll probably find that, like us, your willing to give up some time at WDW to go on another Disney cruise! Congrats!

I'm definitely seeing that happening lol funny thing is I just bought our first APs. Now I wish I had spent the money towards a cruise

I just booked a cruise on the Dream for October and am so glad to read your positive comments - it is our first cruise also. After all the problems with some of the other cruise companies, I was a little worried, but am relieved to read that the boat is very clean and well maintained. And I would expect nothing less than great service from the CMs on the ship. Sorry to hear that the Aquaduck was a bit of a disappointment - my daughter is looking forward to it. I can't wait for our trip!

Don't feel that way, the APs are great and will allow you to get some good discounts at the resorts. You could always plan a WDW vacation about 2 weeks before you APs expire. All it takes is staying at a deluxe for about 10 days to make up for the difference in cost between a park hopper and an AP. Plus you can buy Tables in Wonderland which is pretty great.
