Just a pre trip question or two

Just a question or two regarding WDW and in light of recent events and items found on rides and what not {in this case a gun on Dinosaur a few months back}. I am planning on meeting up with some friends at Disney World, I was delighted to see that Spaceship earth will be open the first two days I am there, and then the day I checkout. {It'll be weird going to EPCOT and not going on Spaceship Earth though}

But my main questions are; Increased security at park gates, I know they've got the guests with bags, and guests with out, but is it still that way, or is it all one direction now, guests with bags go one way with no guests without bags ? Or are there just more security guys at the park gates now ?

Another question I had concerned traffic and gas price averages but I can worry of those later. {My parents are picky when it comes to gas saving, which is why when we get there early we're staying at the Staybridge offsite until day of check in at POR}

I am sure Disney is taking every reasonable means to ensure you won't get shot.

We were there last month and I experienced no noticeable change in the way security was handled over previous years. They still had the separate lines for people without bags - the exception is the IG from the Epcot resorts, and the lines were no longer than usual.

As for traffic and gas, it just depends on the time of year you go. Gas is on it's way up right now...

Gas prices are usually less expensive at the Hess stations on Disney property than the gas stations surrounding the parks.
