I havent been here in a while and I was wondering if anyone knew anything more about that coaster that was supposed to go in Jurassic Park.

Nope, everyone is a buzz about the three rides at Universal atm. I have heard however that the Monorails in Seuss Landing may open before any more additions are made to IoA. But we've heard that before, still... the new guy seems more active so who knows.

You mean that little rai that runs overhead through buildings and stuff? I thought that was just background...

Suppose to have been a Bumper Car on Rails type attraction with Animatronic scenes from the Sneetches Book when you entered the building tunnels.

I also heard about a Helicopter Simulator Ride for jurassic Park once, but not a typical simulator, this one would have been decked out with special effects and ideas. The Roller Coaster seems the easiest addition, but with the low lines at the ones found now, I'm not sure how great an idea this is... maybe.

The big rumor about it is that it will be a B&M Flyer (much like Superman: Ultimate Flight at SFoG). THe big difference with this though is supposedly it is suppose to take place inside the aviary cage from the third movie. As much as I think it would kick major booty, I think I would rather see a stand-up coaster simply because then florida would have the big four (standard, inverted, floorless, and stand-up).

I know where it will go though... nice big plot of land............

Yes, I know the location too, but I think a Dark Wooden Coaster would fit, and the noise would be OK too.. almost like a Dinosaur Roar. I heard about the Aviary also, but is that Realistic?

I think the aviary concept is very possible considering all it would be is steel frames and chainlinked fencing. And the close call possibilities with it would be out of this world. I absolutely LOVE that wooden coaster idea though. Two big advantages to a woodie... 1. First wooden coaster in Orlando and 2. If done right would make IOA a serious coaster enthusiests draw (Hulk and Dragons get the steel lovers... they need a woodie).
Two big drawbacks in the same respect though 1. IOA appears to be a totally B&M enterprise with coasters and B&M don't do woodies. The best company to do this with would probably be S&S now that they are pretty much working with the old CCI, and 2. Very hard tie-ins with the movies. The only thing I can think of would be a runaway jeep idea but that would be it. Or they could just do away with all the story-line attempts and just call it Velociraptor.

I love the woodie idea too. A world class wooden coaster is the biggest omission in the Orando parks. I've been hoping for a woodie since AK and then IOA opened. Hopefully if one builds a woodie the other will too. :) Then we can all argue over which one is the best. :animwink:

Cheers  :xmas:

I would also prefer a wooden coaster. Maybe they could build one like Son of Beast with a loop. Orlando definitely needs a wooden coaster. If not them Islands then maybe Sea World!!!

Although I love the concept of a woodie... a GCI would fit particularly nice... I think it'll be a unique concept if not a coaster at all. So far, what I've think we heard might've been stuff on the drawing board since a ride isn't likely until somewhere around '05.

See, you do post here sometimes.

We are opposite though, I'm mostly here.

Do you mean there are no rides scheduled to open at IoA until 2005, or just in the JP area? I hope they have some refurbs coming then.

I haven't heard that '04 is completely out of the question, but they got to have something by '05... more 6 years is too long without a major attraction for any major FL competetor.

If IOA added a rollercoaster to Jurassic Park, it wouldnt fit in. I mean, you have a water ride, exhibits, kiddie rides, a great environment and such and If a rollercoaster was added, it would look so darn ugly. What would be the theme of the rollercoaster? All of the rides at Jurassic park have a calm theme like JP:River Adventure is a slow ride and has a story and adventure along with it. A rollercoaster goes way to fast for that.

And yet, there is a Coaster in JP already.:lookaroun :lookaroun

True... and would not Lost Continent have a tame string of attractions without DD? I don't think it would so terribly interrupt the pace if it's done right.

That ride is always crowded. The worst part about it is the majority of us cant ride because we are to large. Or " to old".
What a bunch of a balona!!!

You know, the more I think about the Aviary Idea, the more I like it. You see the Gates to JP, the Discovery Center, a giant "Research" looking facility (River Ride) and what's that... an Aviary... cool.

On the point of the Woddie not having much theme... look at Hulk, with the exception of the voice over in the launch, there isn't much theme. If you named it Velociraptor then you make it mostly low to the ground and going through caves and around old buildings and jeeps and what-not... as if the coaster is a pack of raptors on the hunt. I think it could be pulled off.
