June Bugs!

I am going bananas!! June Bugs has been on Cartoon Network for 2 days, while Daffy's Revenge is running concurrent on Boomerang. :hammer: :hammer: So, while one of my kids HATES these characters & is complaining non-stop, the other likes it so much that June Bugs has to be on the living room TV & Daffy's Revenge has to be on the kitchen TV, turned around toward the living room.

If Ted Turner didn't own the Braves as well, I'd be wishing miserable things upon him for this programming. I'll be in a padded cell by midnight, thanks to this.

I like to think Walt secretly approved of Chuck Jones, Bob McKimson, Fritz Freleng and company- and wished he'd had that madcap bunch working for him! I dearly love all things Disney - but this world needs the anarchic world that was Warner Brothers animation. I have always felt proud that Chuck Jones and I shared a birthday. Rabbit Season! Duck Season!

Actually, Chuck Jones did work for Disney, very briefly during layoffs at Warner Brothers. They didn't have much for Chuck to do when he signed on. They were working on Sleeping Beauty at the time, and the major assignments had already been handed off. However, you can see some of the results of his work in Maleficent's goons, which were drawn for the film by Bob Amsberry.

LOL. Of course, if it was a MICKEY MOUSE marathon, I'd take off work!

I remember a couple years ago they used to run the old (and good IMO) mickey cartoons on disney channel. Now they have house of mouse, which I really don't like too well, but I was wondering if the old ones are on anymore. Any ideas?

Many of the classic Mickey Mouse Cartoons are thankfully now on DVD: The Walt Disney Treasures. So far, there's Mickey Mouse in Living Color (1) and Mickey Mouse: The Black and White Years.

Of course, it really was more magical on TV...on the Ink and Paint Club, Quack Attack, and Mouse Tracks...

I love House of Mouse. The actual cartoons are pretty decent attempts at Modern incarnations of all the major Characters. Plus it is very fun to see the inter-movie situations in the actual House of Mouse as well. I'm a bit surprised MM that you do not like this show.

Ink and Paint club!! That's what I remember. We have "The Spirit of Mickey"... but you're right... it's better on t.v. Besides, you can only see the same cartoons in the same rotation so many times.

It's okay... I just like the old ones better. It is what's on our t.v. at 2 pm Eastern time every weekday afternoon!

Yeah, there's something that you just can't get any other way that is held in Walt's cartoons. House of Mouse hasn't gotten anywhere near it...yes, it's hilarious and neat...but it just can't be compared to the classics - for me at least. :)

I find them a great compliment to cartoons of the past, but that's just me.

I like them much better than Rescue Rangers, Quack Pack, or even Goof Troop. Those characters were not meant for Situational Comedies spanning 25 minutes a day. Goofy became so mellow and dull in the Goof Troop Series. Duck Tales and Darkwing were the best of those and propably cause the focus characters were new or secondary Disney.

I'm not much of a fan of those series - Goof Troop, Darkwing, Bonkers, Little Mermaid, Hercules, Tarzan, Buzz, Aladdin - I just find them well...boring. :lookaroun

I agree and I tried to like the Aladdin and Hercules series a lot cause I thought a series could really focus on many other stories on these characters, but they are.... BORING! I take it you liked Duck Tales?? I liked Darkwing, but that's propably due to me liking Super Heros anyway and seeing a lot of puns in the series. Surprised you could even force yourself to write Bonkers.

The Pooh series have always been well done whether you like him or not. :)
