Jiko or Tiffin

My sister and I are taking an trip to WDW, and we've decided to do one table service restaurant while we're there. Since it's her first time, I let her pick, and we're trying to narrow it down between Jiko and Tiffin. I haven't been to Tiffin in 9 years (I usually just do Nomad Lounge) and have never been to Jiko. Any advice on which is best? We're both adventurous eaters, and are down to try just about anything in terms of food/snacks. If it helps, we're more so looking for dinner than lunch Thank you!

I’ve eaten at both and had great experiences at both but my dinner at Jiko was a long time ago.

Both have a lovely atmosphere but Tiffins wins in my book - it’s a very impressive art gallery from the areas represented in the park. Looking around the dining rooms (encouraged by the staff) is really cool.

They’re both excellent.

Tiffin is beautiful and interesting but in my opinion Jiko wins on menu variety and service. We haven’t been there in several years though. Maybe someone with a more recent experience can weigh in.

If you’re going for dinner be sure to remember that AK can close pretty early some days.

If I'm already planning on doing Nomad Lounge for lunch/a break on my Animal Kingdom day, would you still recommend doing Tiffin for dinner?

I was leaning toward Jiko to begin with so that would probably push me over the edge.

Nomad Lounge is my favorite place to have lunch. It’s gorgeous. And you’ll definitely get a sense of what Tiffins is like. If you ask nicely they may let you walk through the restaurant. They’re very accommodating!

Jiko seems to me to be a bit more upscale than Tiffin. You’ll see people dressed up and having a more leisurely dinner. And AKL is one of the most beautiful resorts I’ve seen.

That gets a bit tricky. If it was me personally? I’d still vote for Tiffins but I’m a huge Joe Rohde fan so that’s part of the reason.

My experience years ago at Jiko was also excellent and as Chi mentioned AKL itself is a beautiful resort and well worth a visit.

Jiko! It is destination dining at Disney, one of only a few left. Fantastic service, terrific food, great flavors, and they all just go a little above and beyond. We actually prefer to sit at the counter overlooking the appetizer making and fire station.

My wife and I have eaten at both Jiko’s and Tiffen’s numerous times over a number years. We enjoyed the food, service, presentation, and atmosphere at both. Tiffen’s has more decorative rooms which are very interesting and the food was excellent. To be honest we eat more at Jiko’s, in fact we eat there every visit. The atmosphere is more upscale and quiet and the steak there is outstanding. Between the 2, we probably enjoy Jiko’s more. If you are already in Animal Kingdom, you don’t need to leave to eat there. If you are going back to your hotel, it might be worth it to travel to the AK lodge for a nice dinner at Jiko’s. We just ate there in June 2026.
