So I used to wonder about all you guys out there that have done schedules, spread sheets and spent months planning your trips..I would book, spend a couple hours (at most) on ADR and then move on..well this year, not a chance..I have become a spread addict ( I am still looking for a support group)..my husband and father are constantly getting updates or new spread sheets..i have one for the days, one for the restaurants, one for the shows at all the parks..man the list goes on...and now I laugh at myself and wonder why I never did this before...hee hee hee:drevil:

I'm the same we've been going since 1990 and this time is the first time we have made time tables and actually first time we made ADR to be honest I have wondered how we survived on or last holidays my advice is don't double book and slow enough time in the.schedule for transport and some un expected things like a toilet break especially if you have young children good luck :)

Everyone I know laughs at my Disney spreadsheets. I have one all inclusive and it's even color coded. I can't begin to imagine going to Disney without this kind of orginization. I have a whole note book... it has the spreadsheet, confirmations, info on tours and added things. I have the paper notebook, it's on my laptop, on dropbox, and on a memory stick. I can get to it anywhere I happend to be. You never know when you find some great idea or tip that needs to be added.:ROFLOL:

I think your all over organising. IT'S A VACATION!!! Just relax and enjoy. This year will be my third trip and the most I do is make a few ADR's so I can eat in popular places. I don't even decide which park I'm going to till that morning, unless I have event tickets, like MNSSHP.

I just like to relax, enjoy my vacation and go with the flow.

For our next trip, I'm working on reducing each day down to index card size and getting it laminated and hole punched to keep it on a binder ring.

My wife laughs at my spreadsheets but then later appreciates them when we don't miss anything because of them. :)

Welcome to the club! We are an insane bunch, but we love our planning. Creating my WDW spreadsheets is half of the fun for me.
I have a color coded calendar with the park hours and EMH highlighted. I have a spreadsheet for my ADRs and how many points each meal uses to maximize the DxDP.
I have created a pocket sized itineraries to carry around the parks. I like your idea of lamination, Pooh's Buddy. I usually write on mine though.

Don't know if this works for you, but on our last trip I entered all of our activities into my Blackberry calendar. Didn't do it for the rides, but for ADR's, shows, EMH, etc., I found that it worked pretty well!

Hahahaha mine is an excel workbook that self populates all 4 spreadsheets into the master and includes macros. It is color coded, includes graphics. I printed and laminated it twice before I realized I am just going to keep changing things. I will now print and laminate the day before I leave. I also have small laminated dinning schedule cards (credit card size) for each member of the party.

My husband just keeps looking at me and saying "are you at it again??".

We need a 12 step program LOL

OMG I'm so glad you wrote that! Everyone on here is so organized! I thought
I was the only one printing and reprinting my spreadsheet!!

I do think that a lot of us tend to over-plan but I believe that's half the fun of the trip. Folks like us, with a Disney version of OCD, get to enjoy our vacations for months!

I'm with Stitch...too much planning takes away the joy of vacationing...going with the flow...relaxing and smelling the coffee.

This year, we made reservations for a few shows (HDD Revue, Luau)...and 1 dinner reservation (Sanaa)...and two tee times (Saturday and Tuesday)...then put together a soft schedule of which parks on which days based on historic trends (Disneytouring.com is great).

Other than that, it's what you feel like that day, what the weather is doing, how much time you spent the night before at EMH, etc...hit the pool...have a cold adult beverage (or two)...people watch...stroll around and look for things you somehow missed time and time again.

That is a vacation!!! R & R is the name of the game.

Funny!

I make mine pocket sized. I laminate them and give one to each person to hold onto. We usually stay 10 days, so I have 5 days on one side, 5 on the other. I color code each day for which 2 parks we will visit each day(i.e Red on top for MK, Purple after dinner 'line' for EP) I put our ADR # and time in the middle 'dinner' row, and make codes for various things (i.e. Fantasmic would be 'F @ 8,10'). It's great b/c if we should split up, we know where to be for ressies. I don't drill it down to rides, as we just visit the rides we want, but if the line is too long, we move on. My hubby and Dad came for 5 days while my Mom & kids and I were there for 10. While waiting at the airport, my Dad got to talking to a lady visiting Disney as well. They started talking about restaurants, and my Dad pulled out his 'schedule'. He said she nearly died when he read off all our ADRs. She kept asking how I was able to get all the best places at great times....Experience sure helps!

I love making up spreadsheets just because it passes the time until my Disney vacation begins!! I dont go overboard but I do have spreadsheets for our ADRs and which parks we plan on going to..but I do this because I am a picky eater and do not want to chance getting stuck eating at a restaurant that I really dont like much on the menu..My boyfriend makes fun of me but will admit how they are
