It’s All About the Baby! A Gigi & Papaw take the Grandbaby Trip Report- 11-25-11-30

We just got back last night, but I am so excited to start this trip report.

At the last minute, his mom decided to let him go with us so we basically changed everything.

And it was Amazing!

I was born a Disney lover, I think- but it was taking my son the first time (my first trip too) that solidified the almost insane degree of love I have for it. The baby has been, last year, but he was so much smaller, this was just at that perfect age. He loved everything! Just like his daddy did 20 years ago. Getting to experience it again and see it through his eyes- priceless and only comes in second to taking my first, best Disney buddy. (His daddy) Actually it might be a tie. ;)

We started with a day at the beach, so we would not have such a long ride- (we left a very cold ice storm here)

It was too cold to play in the water of course, but the toes. He still had an awesome time.

Few pics-

We got up at 3:00 am to beat traffic. Cool pics of the trees at Jekyll when we left.

We arrived at Coronado Springs at a little after 7:00 am. Was hoping room would be ready, but should have known better it being the time of year it was. A quick freshen up in the bathrooms and we headed straight to MK!

We chose the Ferry so he could watch the castle get closer. Then off to Buzz!

We rode it twice, then hit the People Mover.

Then we worked our way around Fantasyland, where we went Under the Sea.
FCCFCE4D-926F-4F94-AC46-BFEF177D881F.jpeg

Took in Some Ghosts- He loved it! Was worried a bit about it, but he loved it. :)

Off to Pirates next, he doesn’t know the ride but he knows from pictures his daddy dresses up as Cap’n Jack and he knows the song from the Disney soundtrack we play in the car.
01575BA0-EEFE-453C-8FF4-50873EF76F50.jpeg

He greeted everybody with an Argh, Matey.

At the gift shop he wanted a Pirate Minnie. Of course, he got it. ;)

Lunch at Columbia Harbour House, because we were starving.

Then it was time for the Barnstormer FP! He is big enough to ride! He wanted to ride with Gigi.

And then a ride on a train!

Our room was ready, at this point so we headed out to get our stuff in and freshen up and Little Eli had a short nap.

The puppy, he is holding, was given to him a few weeks ago. His name is Present, and he is kind of our traveling Gnome. We lost him a few times and he got ran over by Scooters, a couple of times, but he made it home.

Then off to Hollywood Studios to ride Alien Swirling Saucers

He was almost tall enough for Slinky Dog Dash, missed it by an inch. :( Then it was time to finally meet Mickey and the gang!

Hollywood & Vine is absolutely as gross, as I remember it being.

With that said, the service was great and the character interaction- top notch!! Don’t go for the food, but character wise, excellent.

This little fella, talked everybody’s heads off. And the smile- Priceless!

I was so hoping he would be a character lover and boy was he!! Seeing that again through a child’s eyes is just so sweet!

And he adores Minnie. So cute, she is his favorite because he says she is pretty lol.

This was the sweetest interaction. It made me cry. I couldn’t help it.

His daddy loved Minnie too. His first trip she kissed him on the cheek and he lit up like a Christmas Tree. It just made me so emotional Minnie gave me a hug when she saw I had burst out bawling. It was a happy cry though.

We came out and headed to get a spot for Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam! We loved it. I still miss the Osbourne Lights though.

I can’t wait to read more about this trip. I’m so glad you were given the opportunity to take him with you. 😃

It was so much fun and I am so thankful we got to take him. We totally abdanoned ship and it was all about him! The only thing we still did that was a grown up thing was the Candlelight Processional and he was so, so good. He has the Disney blood running in his veins.
Looks like such a fun time!
It was so much fun. :)
I LOVE their festive wear!
I loved it too and so cannot stress enough how awesome the characters were here. I think he had a lot to do with it too, because every single one just loved him. It was so sweet! ❤️

I forgot to say that after Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam- we realized we had lost Present. 😑 Thank the Lord, as we were telling Guest Services we had lost him, a CM came in with him. First close call of the trip.

For those that read my pre trip report, before we knew we could take Stinker, I bought tickets for the Disney After Hours at MK for Day 2. I was prepared to lose them and be out the money, if we had to, but the wonderful CM we always talk to, Concierge at Coronado credited the cost to our room. Not only that but my little charmer also had a very special gift sent to our room by Concierge. Everybody loves his sweet, happy personality so much!

The weather day one and two was great! It did not last. We settled in and got some rest and off to Epcot early the next day.

We rode Figment, twice, which he loved! He is singing One Little Spark, over and over since. ❤️

The meal was wonderful as always! I did not make it to see the Gingerbread house. :( He was asleep, when we were going to stop by and as much of a trooper as he was, the whole time-I let him sleep. It was okay though, I could not have asked for a better time. :)

We headed out because the crowds had picked back up to insane levels and it was about to rain again.

When we got back to the resort, Stinker’s gift was waiting on him.
So sweet of them to do that for him. :)
E6C52D87-18FA-4E41-BA1E-AB155A1F6540.jpeg

Then it was up early for DHS. When we stuck our nose out the door, we realized the heat had been cut off! It had been 85 the day before and it was in the lower 50s. 50 in Florida feels way cold to me. Like 40 here. Must be the moisture in the air and breeze. I dunno but it was cold! It was about to get much colder though!
A few pics of Holiday decorations-

We went under the Sea to see VoTLM.

Did a little shopping then went to meet Bacca Bacca.

His size threw him a little bit he still talked to him and called him Bacca Bacca. His daddy is really tall- 6’5 and he said Bacca Bacca bigger than my daddy!

And of course, Gigi has to get a Chewy hug. ;)

We then headed here-

So wanted to let him meet Jessie and Woody but the line was enormous. It had to be well over an hour.
We did manage to do Toy Story twice, once standby and once FP. Everybody was waiting for characters or on Slinky.

After a few pics We left and went to eat at Rosie’s because it was so packed in Toy Story Land and Woody’s Lunch Box did not look that appealing to us.

On the way to Rosie’s- Present fell from the stroller. A man flying on a Scooter, and I know he saw it, he just chose to be a total jerk, and run right over him while we were saying stop, please. He even continued to keep going until my husband put his hand on the scooter to stop him. Present was stuck under the Scooter being drug underneath. After a bath in baby wipes and hand sanitizer, all was okay, but I really hope he had a crappy day because it was just being a blatant jerk.

We finally found a table at Rosie’s but I forgot to take pics of the food. We both got the onion straw burger, I love those. Stinker got chicken nuggets and fries.

I did remember to take a photo of the heaters. It was getting that cold!

Then we headed out after, I believe, to let the baby nap. We had ressies at Epcot for Candlelight Processional package.

I was really questioning doing the Candlelight Processional, as cold as it was getting. It was the one thing that I so wanted to do. We put pants and layers on the baby and headed to Epcot, rode Figment, and Nemo, then off to Coral Reef to eat.
(Why we still chose shorts, I do not know, maybe the ice storm we left, but it was a very dumb decision- Thank God, for 40 dollar blankets is all I can say)

Blankets bought and ready for the Processional. Never been there when it was going on, and was shocked how long the Dining package line was! We waited only 20 mins or so though and still had a really good seat.

The baby was excellent, and I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved this. It was such an emotional moment for me. I am a crier. I put my trees up, and I cry. Christmas means so much to me. This was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. Period. It even topped walking through the gardens with the statues, at Crystal Cathedral when I went to California.

Loved it. That Alfonso Ribero was there, because the way he sang along, and it just felt like he meant what he was saying, all the much better.

Completely amazing and so blessed to have been able to do it. ❤️

I agree. The Candlelight Processional was my favorite part of the short trip my wife and I took there last year, and I just wish that some day I can take the rest of the family to experience it. It brought tears to my eyes many times, it was so beautiful and moving. I'm glad you got to experience it. It sounds like you are having a GREAT trip with your grandson!
