Speaking of shoes, last week I bought a cute little pair of closed-toe ballet flats strictly for dining on this cruise, and I just realized that I haven't seen them since I got home. Just tore thru my closet and can't find them. Hoping I didn't leave them on the counter at K-Mart.

That's something I would do. And have done. Hope you locate them!!

To all the WDWMAGIC aunts. This is baby Liam's first appearance on here. Can't wait until he can appear in the park for his first visit in February.

So, I had been watching airfares but slacked off, and now the early flights on Saturday got way expensive. I'll be arriving around 2pm.

And I think that although I'm not going to stay over at the parks after the cruise, to avoid a long and boring wait around MCO, I'm going to book a late flight and hang out at Magic Kingdom on Thursday!!

I figure if I let DCL deliver my checked luggage to the airport, I'll only have to deal with my carry-on. Get off the ship early and onto a bus headed for WDW, catch the first bus to MK, stow my carry-on in a locker and stroll along Main Street U.S.A. until about 3 or so when it'll probably be time for DME. Will that work out, do you think, @Disneyfalcon? I won't have been staying at BLT the night before, so I don't know how they'd tell me what bus to catch.

Well actually that's a hard one. They won't take your luggage if you aren't on a transfer. Have to think on this one...

An option I have been looking at us doing a one way car rental from the port to the airport which leaves you the room to visit the parks and leave luggage in the car

We've done that before. I think that probably will be your best option. :)

That'd work, too. Last time I cruised, I did the one-way car rental from the airport to the port, as we had park days prior to the cruise, and took DCL transfer back to airport when leaving.

I have to say, though, that the return to reality by going straight from the ship to the airport was much to harsh of a crash landing for me. I need a little park time to ease on back to normal life from life on the Dream. :D

The Magic cruise we did out of Galveston was the harshest crash back to reality post-cruise ever. We got off the ship, drove 25 minutes to our apartment, Tracey put on his work clothes, and went straight to work. I literally sat in the living room with suitcases all over the place and cried. It was awful.

We always used to take late flights and spend the day in Downtown Disney. It was a gentler landing. :)

That's way way too harsh.

My flight home leaves at 125PM so I will have to go straight to the airport. Am I right in understanding that DCL has buses that will take me to the airport? Do I take my luggage on the bus with me or can I check it at the port?

Correct! DCL transfers will take you right to the airport. If you're on a partner airline they'll even check your bags for you. You won't see them after the last night until you get to your home airport.
