Is the Monorail shuttling because of the Wand demolition?

The wand will be removed, by lifting it out of it's place... with respect...

I would not be surprised if they did shuttle for a short period during the removal. While they are doing their best to not interfere with park operation I would bet that at some point they will get to a point that they have to shuttle for safe operation of the monorail. This is all speculation of course, but this is a large object coming down and it can't be all that simple.

Well, if they cut chunks down roughly the size of the letters, i dont think there would be a need to shuttle. The lower parts of the structure wont suddenly become unstable.

You can just go down in order from the furthest point and it's jsut the reverse of building it.

The hat would most definitely be removed in several rather large pieces, of course these would be bigger than smaller pieces but not as large as taking it down in one piece. There is a chance that if the moon aligns with Saturn it could be removed in 2 colossal pieces, but that is unlikely.

when and why? the hats awesome,it gives the studios a landmark (the earful tower never really seemed prominant enough to be a landmark to me)

no...it's not being removed.

No its closed because they are using the wand carcus to build mini wands to sit on the noses of each monorail a bit liked the Rollers winged lady.

Scrap steel is worth a lot of money these days. I imagine they would just reuse the steel.

But Corrus is right, this is not a demolition, it's a deconstruction. Horizons was a demolition. Pieces of the wand will probably end up in a few of the hundreds of backstage mini-museums all over property that were put together by CMs.

Something being demolished isn't the same as something being built so that wouldn't necessarily give him the answer :hammer:

Just as much risk with the construction of a structure as their is with something being leveled.

They might shuttle the monorail due to the fact that there will be 2 cranes soon for the metal structure of the wand. 2 cranes 25 feet from a monorail track while moving pieces of steel supports sounds like a good reason to shuttle the monorail. Especially with the fact that the cranes turned some way to place the star down on the ground near the track. However, that would only be for night time. But, I'm only guessing. Anything can happen. After all, it is Disney we're talking about here.
