Is Disney flexible at all with the date you need to make final payment?

I booked through Dreams Unlimited and made my down payment. Feb 8th - 16th at Poly. Came in under 3,000 for me and my fiance, thanks to the 30% off room rate. I could NOT pass up this deal. Full payment is due mid December. Here is where my problem comes in; the money I am counting on for the trip was money my mother left to me when she passed away not too long ago, which I thought I would have by now, won't be in my hands until January.

I do not want to lose this trip, I have had the worst year ever and I *need* this trip. And the rate I got is a rate I'll probably never get again. My question is; if I call WDW and explain to them my situation, is there a chance they'll work with me and let me pay in January? I have $14,000 coming to me, so there's no doubt that I'll be able to pay for the trip. I just need time.

Well when I have booked with Disney directly, they have been flexible on my last payment - usually you have 7 days (historically based on my own situations) from the actual due date where they will hold it. However, you booked thru a travel agent and I'm not sure how that works! If you are "allowed" to call Disney directly to make any other payments (other then the initial down payment you did with Dreams Unltd) I think you'll be ok as long as you notify Disney. But if you have to make all your payments thru Dreams Unltd., I think it's on them. :animwink:

I can say that I definitely accidentally forgot to pay my final payment by the due date once! I don't remember how long after I realized, but definitely a few days later. I was able to log in to my account and pay it off, like it never happened!

Another thought.... Downgrade your package to just the room, which ONLY a deposit is due on, up til check in, and then once you get your money, upgrade back to the package and pay it off at that time. Since your discount was on the room only, this should not effect your bottom line at all. Good luck!!

Well in the past I have charged on my Disney Visa and they used to offer you 6 months with no interest and it appeared on my statement with that due date and if I wanted to pay over my regular bill they took it off that balance. So if you have a Chase Disney Visa call and ask if they still offer that to charge your balance and give yourself that window.....I used to do that waiting for my tax refund. Better yet if you do NOT have one call anyhow and ask if they offer it...then surf the net because they have different offers for joining up...giving you disney dollars!!!!:sohappy:

WDW is flexible with the payment regardless of who you book through, to a point. As a general rule once you hit 30 days out they will cancel your reservation for non-payment. You will need to contact your travel agent as they technically own the reservation, basically meaning that they have to make any changes.

Unless you have some sort of a contract guaranteeing you inheritance in January I would not count on it. Having just gone through a similar situation it can take months for things to get squared away under the best of conditions. If even one party is contesting things in any way, it can drag out to years. Because of this I would look for another option for payment. If another option does not exist you might look at switching to a room only reservation or rescheduling to a later date.

Best thing you can do is call and ask. I book only hotel reservations through the site because I usually have my annual pass. The deposit is due at the time you book it, but the balance is not due til check-in. I just paid it when I did my on-line check in to get it over with.

Jessica, you are a LIFE SAVER. I wasn't even aware of this option. Thank you so much.

Nobody is contesting things or anything. It's my mothers Profit Sharing account from her old job. I already spoke to them and had it put into my name, and they sent me the info I need to claim it, the thing holding me back is I have to get a new photo ID from the dmv (I'm a non driver), and that can sometimes take quite a few weeks.
