Neither my wife or I are eligible for upgrades until next spring. I suppose the good news for us is that any bugs will be worked out by then....

I love my iPhone but what are the major changes to the iPhone 5 other than it being longer and thinner and have a different plug. Is there anything new that the phone does. I mean I will end of getting it either way but I was just curious.

And I know the screen is bigger and better etc...I just wanted to know if it did anything different...not looking for tech aspects.

Both hubby & me are eligible to upgrade. Just ordered a black 16g for him & white 16g for me. We both currently have 16g iPhone 4's and have no problems with space which is why we stuck with the smaller ones. My 'home' button has a mind of its own & works when it feels like being nice. I've held off replacing the phone for the 5's to come out so I'm extra excited. Now just need to find cases for protection & car chargers since all our old ones aren't going to be compatible. :(

So yeah, count me in x2!

Just got the 4 in March so going to hold off. Maybe I can get a cute Disney case for the 4 on clearance since once the 5's come out everything is going to be geared towards those.

my discount window changes in Nov.. so gotta hold off till then at least.

I think the plug thing is being overhyped for the wrong reasons. If apple were smart, they'd give one in each new iphone.. but I doubt that will happen :) The bigger issue is those that use the dock connector for peripherals that use analog audio or tight forming docks... simple charging, etc will be easy..

They "might" be doing just that.

ahh.. see what happens when I hit wdwmagic before I hit my newsfeeds! Good on Apple.. it's a no brainer IMO. Next we'll hear the complaining 'but I need more than one!!!'

but of course the issue is still up in the air, as the engadget article is reporting possibly it won't.. The price on it is absurd. Should be a $10 convenience fee. Heck, I'd say put them in barrels for free in the Apple Store.. but you know ab-users would take handfuls just to try to sell them to others.

For as good as Apple is at marketing they do seem to fall short in areas like this. It hearkens back to the infamous phrase "You are holding it wrong" when antennae-gate was in full swing.

Currently sticking with the Droid phone. Apple has the ability and monies to really to do something special with their phones and they seem to do very small and simple upgrades to the I-Phone. The A-6 and 4G-LTE along with a larger sceen should have really happened last year. I am still shocked that they only went up to a 4.0" screen and did not jump to a 4.3" - 4.5". I was hoping for more with the I-Phone 5.

Same here. The comment I made to a friend of mine yesterday was "In one fail swoop they caught up to a bunch of year old Android phones."

I thought I remember it being said during the press release that the adapter was to be included in the box with the I-Phone 5.

I-Phone is a great product and very reliable, but like you said it is 1 year behind in technology. But, being 1 year behind give them more time to prove their product.
