Introducing the All-New WDWMagic Park Hours Calendar

Planning a Walt Disney World trip just got a whole lot easier. We've completely overhauled the WDWMagic Park Hours Calendar with a stack of new tools designed to answer the questions every guest actually asks — from "what time does Magic Kingdom close this Saturday?" to "which parks have Extended Evening Hours on my dates?" Here's everything that's new and how to get the most out of it.

At a Glance: Today's Hours Banner

The moment you land on the calendar, you'll see a live hours strip at the very top of the page showing today's operating hours for all six Walt Disney World parks — Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon — side by side at a single glance.

You can also use the arrow buttons on either side to step forward or backward by a day, so you can quickly check what's on for tomorrow or revisit yesterday's hours. A Today link snaps you back to the current date whenever you need it.

Ask About Park Hours — AI-Powered Answers

This is the big one. The new Ask About Park Hours box lets you type any park hours question in plain English and get a real answer pulled live from our database.

You don't need to know the right search terms. Just ask the way you'd ask a friend who knows everything about Disney:
  • "What time does Magic Kingdom close next Friday?"
  • "Which park stays open the latest this week?"
  • "Are there any after-hours events this month?"
  • "My trip is June 4–9 give me all park hours"
  • "When is the next Extended Evening Hours?"
The assistant knows about all six parks and understands time shortcuts like "this weekend," "this week," "coming up," and day names like "Wednesday." If you don't mention a park, it checks all six automatically and gives you a full picture. No need to specify — it just does it.

A few things worth knowing:
  • Early Entry (30 minutes before opening) is available daily for Disney Resort hotel guests
  • Extended Evening Hours is a late-night perk for Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resort guests only
  • Special Ticketed Events (like Mickey's Not-So-Scary or After Hours) are separate paid events — regular park guests need to leave before the event begins.
  • If a water park shows no hours, the assistant can tell you whether it's closed for seasonal refurbishment or whether Disney simply hasn't released those hours yet

The Monthly Calendar

The main calendar grid shows a full month of park hours for whichever park you select from the dropdown at the top. You can switch between parks and months instantly, and the calendar updates without reloading the page.

Each date cell shows the park's operating hours at a glance, plus any special events — Early Entry times, Extended Evening Hours, or Special Ticketed Events — listed below. Click any date to open a detailed Day View showing all six parks' hours side by side for that day, with full event listings. You can then step through days using the Prev and Next buttons in the modal without going back to the main calendar.

Use the Share button next to the month heading to copy a direct link to the exact park and month you're viewing — handy for sending to fellow trip planners.

The Events and Refurbishments buttons at the top link through to our dedicated events and refurbishments pages so you can cross-reference what's happening during your dates.

My Trip — Highlight Your Dates

If you know your travel dates, the My Trip feature is the fastest way to see everything at once. Click the date selector and choose your check-in and check-out dates. Your trip dates will be highlighted across the calendar in amber so they stand out immediately.

Once you've set your dates, click View trip summary to open a day-by-day table showing every park's operating hours for your entire trip — all in one place. Early Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and Special Ticketed Events are included for each day so you can spot the best evenings and plan accordingly.

If hours haven't been released yet for part of your trip, you'll see a note letting you know rather than leaving a gap. Trip dates are saved automatically in your browser so they'll still be there next time you visit.

Park Hours Trends — The Next 60 Days

Scroll below the calendar and you'll find Park Hours Trends — six charts, one for each park, showing the opening and closing times plotted across the next 60 days. This is ideal if you're flexible on dates and want to find days when a park stays open particularly late, or if you're trying to spot patterns in the schedule.

Each chart shows today's hours highlighted, with a summary line at the top giving you the earliest opening and latest closing at a glance. If you've set My Trip dates, your trip window is highlighted across every chart in amber.

Historical Hours — Compare Years Side by Side

Further down the page is the Historical Hours Comparison tool. Pick a park and a month, then toggle on any combination of years going back to 2009. Each year is plotted as a coloured band showing the typical range of opening to closing times, and you can overlay up to five years at once.

This is particularly useful for planning around busy periods. Want to know whether Hollywood Studios tends to stay open later in June or July? Or how this year's Magic Kingdom hours in March compare to a typical year? Toggle the years on and the answer is right there in the chart.

You can switch between Date view (every calendar day of the month) and Day of week view (average hours by weekday) depending on whether you want to see specific dates or general weekly patterns.

A Few Tips for Getting the Most Out of It

Use the AI for multi-park, multi-day questions. The calendar is great for a single park view, but if you want to compare all parks across your whole trip, just ask the AI — it'll pull everything together in one answer.

Set your trip dates first. Once My Trip is active, the 60-day trend charts and calendar both highlight your dates, making it much easier to spot the good days and the crowded ones at a glance.

Check back as your trip approaches. Disney typically releases park hours 60–90 days in advance for regular months and further out for peak periods. The calendar updates automatically as new hours are published.

Use Share to coordinate. The Share button generates a link to exactly what you're looking at — useful for comparing notes with family members or posting in the WDWMagic forums when asking for advice about specific dates.

We hope the new tools make your trip planning a little smoother. As ever, the WDWMagic forums are the place to be for discussion, advice, and the latest news.
