I ask this question:

In 20 years, what attractions do you still feel will be in existence at Disney World?
It's really hard to think about this one when you think that kids in 20 years will not know of many of the things of today. This should be interesting.

I'm gonna change "Will" to "should." ;)

It's a Small World
The Enchanted Tiki Room
Pirates of the Caribbean
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
The Hall of Presidents
Haunted Mansion
Country Bear Jamboree
Dumbo, the Flying Elephant
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
Living with the Land
The American Adventure
Tower of Terror
Kilimanjaro Safari
Walt Disney World Railroad
Peter Pan's Flight (Thanks Brer V. )

My prediction: Mickey's Philharmagic will be replaced by a new show by then, and Mission Space would have to get some sort of new ride to raise the bar of technology or bring in the guests.

Space Mountain (although it will be different than what we have now)
Buzz Lightyear will be replaced
Astro Orbiter will still be around (tough to replace and it's the "focal point" of tomorrowland)
CoP will be replaced
Stitch's Great Escape will be around...but probably ready for replacement.
Timekeeper...heck, it's pretty much gone already.
TTA will be around
Pooh will be around
Snow White will be changed but remain Snow White
Peter Pan will be refurbished
IASW will remain.
Tea Cups will remain
Dumbo will remain
Caroussel will remain
Haunted Mansion will remain (although refurbished)
Riverboat will remain
Hall of Presidents will remain
TSI will remain although it may be changed with more "updated" materials and "attractions"
BTMRR will remain
Splash will remain
Pirates will be refurbished but always be Pirates
Jungle Cruise...tough one.
Tiki Room...tough one.
Aladdin will remain

SSE will still be a big ball :)
UoE is tough
Test Track will be updated or added to.
Mission:Space will be added to and a new film will be there...heck, maybe on M:S 3 or 4 by then LOL
Imagination...who knows.
Land...already getting additions...Soarin' will remain but most likely have a new movie.

Muppets will get a new flick.
Star Tours will get a new flick.
ToT XX.
Rock N Rollercoaster will get updated track listings

HA HA HA...who am I kidding!!!
20 years for all of this??? I think it'll need to be a LOT more time before ALL this gets done!

I'm gonna have to add Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, and Tea Cups, and WDW Rail Road to that list. they may be rehabbed but I doubt they will ever replace these icons of Disney World.

My eye catches your comment on Mission Space here more than any. Isn't this why Disney should invent it's own rides? Notice the "keepers' that you mentioned are really not technologically advanced at all (not all of them) and yet are classics. MS is great but that is because of it's technology. The mechanics of the system were known before Disney jumped on it. When technology catches up it won't be classic.

I've never thought of this until you noted what you did. Maybe Disney should be inventing it's own classics.

Oops! I totally forgot Haunted Mansion. . . and I thought I put it down. Thanks. :D

I hope that all the current attractions are left intact in the future, all the good oldies are brought back and if change is needed, build anew, there's plenty of land right? Realistically though, the only attraction that will be left is the monorail. It will drop you off the exit queue into the biggest gosh darn store you have ever seen. There will be plenty of merchandise up for sale from past attractions, heck, maybe even actual parts from them (too bad Ebay). The turkey leg cart will probably survive too. :hammer: :hammer:

Horizons!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

:brick:

I would be willing to bet that "Future World" in Epcot will be completely different. Not one thing that is there today will be there in 2024.

Hmmm....this is a tough question.....

At the Magic Kingdom:
Pirates of the Caribbean

Haunted Mansion
Hall of Presidents
"it's a small world"
Peter Pan's Flight
Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Astro Orbiter

Carousel of Progress (we can only hope)
Space Mountain (different version of course)

At Epcot:
Spaceship Earth
Soarin'
Test Track (heavily updated)

At the Disney MGM Studios:
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Rock 'n Roller Coaster (updated with new band)
Star Tours (new film)
Lights, Motors, Action! Auto Stunt Show

At Animal Kingdom:
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Expedition Everest

I cannot imagine a Magic Kingdom without a Dumbo ride. Every parent who has a tendency to be impatient MUST experience the 30 minute wait for the 90 second ride in the surprisingly alarming flying elephant (does that thing naturally tilt toward the open area while we spin around?) with his/her 4 year old star struck child. That will not be outdated in 100 years!

It's easier to say what will change between now and then

MK:
- Tiki Birds may change. Maybe it will revert back to the original?
- Thunder Mtn may change, pending some serious litigation or another incident at DL
- Ariel's Grotto may change. Perhaps it will be incorporated into the next 20K ride
- Philharmagic is a tossup. It's popular, and the Disney characters are timeless, but the theater has a reputation for changing shows around
- Stitch will change. He's trendy now, but not timeless
- Carousel of Progress may change (I hate to consider this one)
- Timekeeper will change

EP:
- UOE will change. Ellen isn't timeless
- WoL may have a drastic change, since it's seasonal now
- HISTA will probably disappear or change into something new
- Innoventions is always changing. I'm not sure if the buildings will be levelled like some people speculate.
- Circle of Life will change
- Living Seas will have changes (Nemo, etc), but will be the same pavilion
- Anything in World Showcase is subject to global events

MGM:
- Superstar / Doug / ABC TV always changes
- Sounds Dangerous always changes
- Indy may disappear in favor of a new Indy ride
- MuppetVision may be replaced by Muppet Movie Ride
- One Man's Dream will be gone
- Millionaire will be gone
- Animation Tour will be 100x better than it is now

AK:
- TTBAB may be a whole new show
- With any luck, Camp Minnie Mickey will be replaced by Beastly Kingdom
