Imagineering & WDW Engineering

I'm a bit stumped by this one. Can anyone explain the difference in the jobs performed by WDW Engineering and Imagineering??

I never noticed this until recently, but the only thing I could figure is that Imagineering does the initial design as well as major renovations, while WDW Engineering does more of the day-to-day upgrades on the attractions, and the engineering behind the parade floats.

Is this perception far off the mark??

you got it all right... except for the parade floats. WDW Engineering does major maintenance on the floats, but the Character dept does day to day work. And the floats are designed in conjuction with Walt Disney Entertainment and WDI.
