If you were an Imagineer, what would you do?

If you were an Imagineer what new attraction would you come up with? What attraction would you change? What would you knock down? What new resort/restaraunt would you come up with?

I'll kick off...

The Jungle Book Rocking Rapids

For me, The Animal Kingdom just isn't quite Disney enough, and I've always felt that Jungle Book was vastly underused. I would re theme the Kali River Rapids to the Jungle Book. It wouldn't take much. The ride would remain essentially the same but would feature animatronics and music. Think Jungle Cruise but with Baloo etc. The burnt down section could easily be used to recreate the scene when Sher Khan runs off with his tail on fire.

And it's already in the Asia section after all!

If I was an imagineer the first thing I would do would be an aladdin e ticket in the adventureland section of the park, the que would have the genie interacting and appearing through various items laid about and the beginning of the ride would have you enter through the cave of wonders much like the film as for a ride system I would think something similar to a kuka arm coaster seen here

except I would change the vehicles to magic carpets and have the kuka arm focus really on simulating what flying would be like on a flat object the ride would be a bit longer than modern dark rides and would feature sections where the flying really gets intense especially in the finale of the ride to make use of the coaster sections.

Great idea! Personally, rather than a coaster, I think it could work well if they used a system similar to the falling/swinging sections on the Spider-Man ride

Quit and go to Universal Creative where my work wouldn't be value engineered to death or would have a better chance seeing the light of day!

At Hollywood Studios, I would close the Backlot Tour, and make that whole section of the park into 'Pixar Place'. Also, Animation Courtyard would become Toy Story Playland (near Toy Story Midway Mania), and the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground would be re-themed to A Bug's Life.

The whole 'Streets of America' thing would be removed to make way for a much bigger and better Star Wars land (also making the most of the clever backdrops), and the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular show would be moved to Animal Kingdom, where an Indiana Jones land would open. As well as the stunt show, this land would include the Indiana coaster from Paris and a more updated version of the Indi ride from Anaheim.

Over at Epcot, Soarin' would be re-themed, so that it takes you over different planets instead of different fields, which would be more futuristic.

I'll need to think about what else I'd do.

Here is a plan for the 'Pixar Place' section at Hollywood Studios, which would consist of 'mini lands'...

  • Cars Land - same as in California
  • Monstropolis - includes a 'door ride', which is similar to Harry Potter's Forbidden Journey but it takes you through the doors in the factory, and a Ride and Go Seek ride like in Japan. A Harryhausen's restaurant is also a must.
  • The Big Blue Sea - all indoors, similar to the Mermaid Lagoon at DisneySea, just themed around Finding Nemo instead of Little Mermaid. Would include Crush's Coaster, the Sea With Nemo and Friends (moved from Epcot), and the Finding Nemo musical (moved from Animal Kingdom where Tarzan would replace it).
  • Nomanisan Island - themed around the Incredibles, this includes The Incredibles Adventure, a ride similar to the Spider Man ride at Universal, which perhaps incorporates the island pods, and also an interactive show, like Turtle Talk, but with Edna.
  • Toy Story Playland - same as Paris, just with Toy Story Mania incorporated, and perhaps a Bo Peep Carousel added.
  • A Bug's Playland - As described previously, this would be the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure playground, re-themed to A Bug's Life.
Also, in the future, Mission: Space would be moved to Pixar Place and re-themed to WALL-E, and a Paradise Falls log flume would open. A Ratatouille restaurant also seems possible.
So there we are. :)

Except WDI's attempts at value engineering are comically awful.
The Fantasyland expansion cost upwards $300 million. WWoHP was kept under $200 million.
I've read Carsland was about half a billion dollars.

WDI shouldn't have a problem with budget cuts, because they get bigger budgets than the rest of the industry after all is said and done. They aren't beating Universal on a quality standpoint, but Universal is shredding them on an efficiency standpoint. That's why ideas at Universal Creative are more likely to be built.

I want to build the Great Disney movie Ride: A Celebration of the best Disney movies. Just like the Great Movie Ride but all Disney movies. Plus I would add a Frozen ride and a Tangled ride
