If WDW needs capacity-eaters... what would you want to see?

I think the nostalgia thing has been burst with Splash Mountain's demise, so I am all aboard for radical thinking... to an extent.
Kids don't really care about the treehouse, it's time for something else. I agree.
Tom Sawyer Island is cool, but man that's a huge opportunity for something new. How about a swinging bridge that allows easier access, but can rotate to allow the paddleboat thru?
Stich's Great Escape. Hello... do something. I don't care if it's Buzz Lightyear's time travel experience. Empty buildings. Bah.
Bulldoze the go kart track, you can do that in 27 different places in Orlando. Do better.
Don't touch COP. That's where I like to go for air conditioned naps.

There's so much wasted space in the parks right now... the empty Stitch and Voyage of the Little Mermaid buildings, the Mickey Shorts theater, the Frozen Sing-Along, Launch Bay, the Shorts Film Festival... do something with those. Put attractions actually worth doing in there.

I think Fantasyland could use another dark ride or two as well.

Magic Kingdom

Adventureland New Ride - Increases hourly capacity by approx 2k guests

As I mentioned before, we remove the treehouse. This frees up an amount of space approximately the size of central hub - not a lot to work with, but for context Space Ranger Spin would fit. We don't want another outdoor water ride in this area. You've got Jungle Cruise right next door so it'd be a bit too much. Instead I'd keep the water way in place and have a Soarin' style show added here, you'd have room for 2, maybe 3 screens. This would be a circlevisionesq show focusing on outdoor nature, heavily leaning on the ecosystem and animals. It needs some IP (its MK after all), so I'd throw in either Moana or Tarzan here, they've not got much else to work with that you could shoehorn into that category.

Tom Sawyer Island
TSI would be removed - gone completely. I'd backfill part of the river behind it to make it part of the surrounding land. This would form the basis for a new land at the back of the park, the one we've recently seen suggested - Villains. The space we have available here would allow for 2-3 major attractions and a couple of low quality mini attractions (E.g Dumbo).

The first new ride would be a RoTR trackless ride where you're taken through multiple IP stories of the hero fighting the villain. So scenes from practically all of Disneys pre-pixar films. These typically have a high capacity so would be ideal people eaters (when they work!).

The second ride would be a coaster, MK's sorely lacking in this department and whilst yes, its because of young kids it shouldn't mean a couple cant exist. This would be an outdoor coaster themed after one of the villains. The idea of this one would be something that can at least attempt to rival Hagrids, although given the lack of decent relatable IP in this area would be somewhat limited.

The third ride would be a FoP style 3d ride focused on Aladdin, specifically the cave of wonders. You know the drill, you're on a carpet, you need to escape but the nasty ol' cave doesn't want to let you, nor does Jafar - again, easy people eater.

Here's the elevator pitch:

Introducing Villains Lair, a new land at Magic Kingdom. This dark and sinister lair is themed around the Disney villains and offers guests the chance to experience the ultimate battle between good and evil. Villains Lair would be located at the back of the park, giving it a more secluded and intimate feel. The area would be approximately 6-7 acres, allowing for plenty of space for multiple attractions, shops, and restaurants that would be themed to the area.

Attractions: (Fair warning: the names suck)
  1. The Ultimate Battle - This dark ride takes guests on a trackless ride system, similar to Rise of the Resistance, through multiple scenes from classic Disney films where heroes fought against their respective villains. The ride would be an epic battle between good and evil, with guests ultimately triumphing over the villains.
  2. The Evil Coaster - This outdoor coaster would be themed after one of the Disney villains and offer thrilling moments as guests feel like they're being chased by the villain. The coaster would feature inversions, high-speed drops, and thrilling moments.
  3. Escape the Cave - This 3D ride would take guests on a thrilling adventure through the Cave of Wonders from Aladdin. Guests would board a magic carpet and fly through the cave, avoiding obstacles and facing off against Jafar as he tries to stop them from escaping with the treasure.
In addition to these major attractions, guests can also enjoy interactive character meet-and-greets with the Disney villains, photo opportunities in front of iconic villain locations, and even a few carnival-style games themed around classic Disney villains.

Tomorrowland
Space is a bit limited here, but the land is a frankly insulting representation of what it was supposed to be, but heres the plan:

Welcome to the new Tomorrowland, a land that finally lives up to its name. In this new vision of Tomorrowland, you'll find a sleek and modern atmosphere with a brand new attraction that will take you on a thrilling journey through time and space.

As you make your way to the former Stitch's Great Escape building, you'll notice that the facade has been completely reimagined with a futuristic design that will immediately transport you to the world of tomorrow. You'll board a unique coaster vehicle that is unlike any other coaster car you've ever seen. The ride begins with a slow-moving section that sets the stage for your journey through time. You'll see promotional videos for Tomorrowland 2155, a futuristic world that awaits you.

As you begin to pick up speed, the coaster enters a partially covered arcing tunnel that connects either side of Tomorrowland, and suddenly you're rocketing through the air at breakneck speeds. The ride vehicle then transitions back into an omnimover-style ride system, taking you through various areas of Tomorrowland 2155. You'll see holographic characters, projection mapping, and other futuristic effects that will immerse you in this new world.

Finally, you'll exit the ride on the other side of the building, where you'll find a new open-air plaza with stunning views of Tomorrowland. This new coaster-omnimover hybrid attraction will be the centerpiece of the reimagined Tomorrowland, showcasing the latest in theme park technology and design. Get ready to experience the future like never before.

Epcot

New Horizons

Ok ok, I get it, its been done to death but hear me out. I'm not proposing the ride gets rebuilt per se.

Located in the space currently occupied by the defunct WoL povilion a new Pavilion would be built called Future World, taking the name of the former land. Just like WoL this would be home to multiple attractions, the main one being New Horizons. This would be be a new ride concept, a hybrid mix of an omnimover and the FoP projection setup. Guests board an omnimover, and go through multiple theaters and scenes with a story reminicent of the one from Horizons, but updated to be appropriate for the times.

The Wonders that Made Us
Taking cues from The Making of Me, this would be a fairly simple theater attraction with a focus on humanity, and how technology has improved (and impared) humanity. Whilst it wont be SpaceShip earth levels of traveling through time, it will focus on the digital revolution, and how we now have the ability to share information. There would be a dynamic element to this, the second part of the footage for this would be periodically updated and would focus on new and emerging technological advances that will change humanity in the not to distant future.

World Showcase
This ones pretty simple. Several pavilions have existing ride space, and original plans - revive the damn things! Also throw in a few more countries.

Hollywood Studios
This one is the one park that I dont think needs too much to be honest. At most I'd suggest re-adding a movie production themed ride (e.g backlot tour / GMR's themes)

Animal Kingdom

Death to Dinoland

It's gotta go. It's so damn out of place and dated. Get rid of the whole lot, including Dinosaur. In its place we've got a huge amount of space for a new land. So lets build one. And yep, you guessed it, we're going back to Beastly Kingdom. Why? Because nothing makes sense anymore, and I'm sure as hell not turning it into Zootopia Land. So here's my elevator pitch:

Beastly Kingdom is a brand new land at Disney's Animal Kingdom that celebrates all kinds of mythical creatures, from dragons to unicorns and beyond. The land is set in a medieval-style village, complete with towering castles, winding streets, and hidden alleyways. The immersive environment is full of nods to classic fairy tales and legends, with surprises around every corner.

Attractions at Beastly Kingdom include:

  1. Dragon's Flight - This high-speed roller coaster takes guests on a thrilling ride through a dragon's lair, complete with twists, turns, and near-misses with fire-breathing beasts.
  2. Enchanted Forest Walkthrough - This leisurely walk through an enchanted forest is full of surprises, with hidden paths, secret grottos, and magical creatures to discover (and just for the marketing folks we'll throw in a few speakers and blinking lights so they can justify MagicBand+).
  3. Unicorn Journey - This gentle ride takes guests on the back of a unicorn through a mystical forest, with shimmering waterfalls and sparkling pools.
  4. Beastly Maze - This interactive maze is full of twists and turns, with mythical creatures lurking around every corner. Guests must find their way through the maze while avoiding the clutches of the fearsome Minotaur.
  5. Griffin's Nest - This thrilling dark ride takes guests on a journey through the clouds, with a griffin as their guide. Along the way, guests must help the griffin retrieve a stolen treasure from an evil sorcerer (Dark Ride).
  6. Chimera's Lair - This interactive playground is full of obstacles, challenges, and surprises. Guests can climb, slide, and play their way through the lair of the fearsome chimera, all while avoiding its fiery breath (ahem, a bit of smoke/steam and some red lights, we're not about to cook your kiddos).

Water Park Madness

Ok you're probably all going to hate me for this one. But step 1 is to close and tear down both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach (stop shouting at me, this is my totally unrealistic fantasy, not yours!) Here goes nothing:

Introducing Moana's Island Adventure
Moana's Island Adventure is spans over 40 acres of lush tropical island paradise. The park is inspired by the hit Disney animated film and is designed to transport guests to the magical world of Moana.

The water park features a wide variety of attractions and activities, including:
  1. Hei Hei's Splashdown - This family-friendly water slide takes guests on a winding journey through the heart of the island, with plenty of surprises along the way.
  2. Maui's Pipeline - This thrilling water coaster takes guests on a high-speed ride through the mountains, with twists, turns, and drops that will get your heart racing.
  3. Pua's Playful Reef - This interactive water playground is perfect for kids, with slides, water cannons, and all kinds of fun activities to keep them entertained for hours.
  4. Te Fiti's Lazy River - This lazy river takes guests on a relaxing journey through the island's lush jungle, with stunning scenery and gentle rapids to keep things interesting.
  5. Tamatoa's Treasure Hunt - This immersive scavenger hunt takes guests on a quest to find the hidden treasures of the island, with clues and puzzles scattered throughout the park.
  6. Moana's Wave Pool - This massive wave pool is the centerpiece of the park, with huge waves that will make you feel like you're in the middle of the ocean.
  7. Kakamora Krazy - This multi-slide complex takes guests on a thrilling adventure through the heart of the island, with multiple slides and water features to choose from.
  8. Tala's Tubular Twist - This high-speed body slide takes guests on a twisting, turning journey through the jungle, with breathtaking views of the island along the way.
  9. The Sea of Monsters - This massive water coaster takes guests on a high-speed journey through the ocean, with drops and turns that will leave you breathless.
Throughout the park, guests will be immersed in the world of Moana, with lush vegetation, colorful scenery, and plenty of nods to the film. From the giant sculptures of Maui and Tamatoa to the authentic Polynesian food and drink options, every detail of the park is designed to transport guests to the magical world of Moana.

Ok I think I'm spent. Now time for the disclaimer:

I am fully aware that every single thing here is totally unrealistic, not going to happen, stupid, silly, bonkers, unbelievable, etc.

At SeaWorld, during Festivals, they have so many shows. I mean, when Vanilla Ice is on the scene... the crowd follows him.
Imagine if every park had a stadium i.e. like rivers of light seating at AK, Fantasmic at HS... 5,000 people are THERE, and you are riding 7DMT without a care in the world.
They have concerts during the festivals in Epcot all the time…

How about something as simple as reinstalling all the benches they took out of the parks to give guests a chance to catch their breath for a few minutes…why? Because TWDC doesn’t see a ROI on benches…I do agree with the empty buildings…Stitch #1 and again, Elon, are you listening?? Sponsor the speedway, install electric Tesla branded cars and bring it into the 21st century.

At epcot… isn’t the capacity like 1,000 people? There’s nothing at MK, for instance.

Bulldoze Tom Sawyer island and build an amphitheater?
I LOVE TSI, and so did my kids hunting for the paint brushes in the mornings, but I do agree that I think it’s time to reinvent that big plot of land…dock the Liberty Belle and convert it into a restaurant…build pedestrian bridges over the ROA that connect the BTMRR side and the HM side as well…THAT whole plot could become the NOLA/Tiana area that people are clamoring for…it could also connect over/under the RR into the large plot behind for development as well.

We don't want the capacity to be eaten, we want more capacity. What we need are people eaters.

I propose an 800 ton lizard with big fangs that has been starved for a week. Wait times will plummet.

And you don't want to do away with the treehouse or island, they may be your only safe haven.....

I would love to see an Indiana Jones type dark ride adventure in AK. That would eat up alot of the crowds too.
I too would love an Indy ride, but unless it’s a completely new ride system, Indy would be a retheme of Dinosaur (ala DLR) and for all the complaints about AA’s not working, it’s a great ride and I’d hate to lose it…THAT plus it wouldn’t be a ride gain, it would be a even swap.

Bring back those old hours! I know parties have taken their place, but in the "old days," the days were long enough you had shifts of people instead of folks really trying to make a full day of it. Park closes at 1am? We'll go at 4pm. etc.

Off the cuff, just random thoughts... let's hear yours?
To do this, I think they'd need to modify BG and G+ policies a bit. Somehow stagger both of them. I suppose they already do his with the 1pm BG option, but people still wake up at 7am, as insurance so they can try for both options. As it is the late night is fairly empty, and I think it is partly because people are getting up for 7am.

I would add more mid-tier attractions. Things that are fun, all-family, but not GoG kind of $$$. I'm thinking along the likes of Frozen Ever After and Pooh. Disney has a wealth of characters they aren't showcasing. Characters like Merida, Rescuers, Lady/Tramp to name a few.

I don't see WDW doing non-IP right now, but there are non-IP options as well. They got away from Hollywood as a location theme in HS, but that could be revived. Maybe an attraction that highlights some aspect of Hollywood's culture from the past. Maybe borrow something from the likes of Agent Carter? They wouldn't have to use AC per say, but an attraction that highlights an element of that era of Hollywood.

They could also use another Toy Story Mania type attraction, where riders play an actual game. Not the lame non-game they did for MF and M:Space, but an actual game. Loads of possibilities there. The new ride should be a different style of game though from TSM.

No. There is already too many dark rides at Disney.

While you don't want to put one in a park or area that's already saturated, dark rides always feel like quintessential Disney. I've often thought that Animal Kingdom could use one where the guest is put in the role of Charles Darwin. You could explore the world with all of the amazing animal discoveries coupled with the trials of life at sea. While not as effective as a theater at gobbling up guests for a decent amount of time, there are guests who just aren't into shows.

I'd like to see some more paid performers in the park. Juggling or magic or whatever. They could easily get some very talented people from The Renaissance Festival that tours around the country. I saw some actrobatic performers on House Hunters (my wife watches those shows a lot) from Disney and they seemed very nice.
They need to bring back Bubble Nicholas who performed in the France area. Epcot had some great street performers at one time.
