Frontierland is by far my favorite land and I wanted to come up with what my “perfect” frontierland would look like if a new castle park was being built. I want my land to connect through one central story so that means no country bears unfortunately:( Please add on any ideas you have for it!

Story:
-would follow DLP story with Henry Ravenswood

Attractions:

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
:
-in the middle of the land on an island like in DLP
-lots more animatronic animals
-would play more into the storyline of a haunted ghost train
-would go through a town portion like in Disneyland just much larger

Phantom Manor:
-my personal favorite haunted mansion & where I would want my haunted mansion style attraction located
-would follow the jake storyline instead of the newer, multiple suitors storyline
-elements from haunted mansion that make less sense for this ride like madame leota would be removed
1CB1BF78-0145-42AC-98FB-1F04A2BB9FF4.jpeg

Western River Expedition
-it wouldn’t be the exact same as the original concept but very similar
-you would travel back in time a couple years to experience the town of dry gulch before the earthquake made it into a ghost town
-this would be the park’s pirates
-it wouldn’t have the log flume and mine train from the full concept only the main animatronic heavy ride

Geyser Mountain (possibly)
- I’m not sure if I want to add this yet because the theming could be too similar to BTMR
- If you aren’t familiar with this concept it was a drop tower type ride
-you could have a huge thunderbird animatronic in it somehow

Riverboat
-around the rivers of the far west
- lots of scenes around the river banks including ones from mine train through nature’s wonderland and concepts that never made it to that ride
-a fishing hut along with beacon joe and his dog
-native american scene (a part of a bigger walkthrough section)
-geysers surrounding geyser mountain
-and of course great views of BTMR
EA266851-CE29-4A0B-B81E-1A0BC5D4F610.jpeg9A9D409A-060C-48EF-93B4-CF4F55628241.jpeg

Native American Walkthrough Mini Section
-educational section
-many historically accurate dioramas to walk through and around
-one part would have animatronics and you would see it from the river
-there would be a cave you could go into and listen to traditional stories told from an animatronic native american shaman (similar to mystery lodge at knotts)
9E167E65-685E-454B-AFC6-083A15AEA2E8.jpeg

Canoes
- the load station would be near the native mini section
-extinct in many parks besides disneyland and shanghai disneyland

Frontierland Station

-one of three railroad stations in the park
-my train would go through a diorama before each land
-the diorama before entering this land would be a cowboy shootout or something similar
- in this land the train would also go over a huge trestle like in Disneyland

Also I would like to have some kind of animatronic show, but I’m not sure what it would be. Any ideas?

restaurants:

golden horseshoe/lucky nugget:

- can can girls! cowboys! traveling salesmen!
- vaudeville style show
-would have to play mr piano man please at some point (very important)
-TS

steakhouse
-similar to one in DLP
- where the wealthy would eat back when the town was booming
-TS

Mesa Terrace
-inside western river expedition and similar to blue bayou
-overlooks one of the first few scenes in the ride
- TS

saloon
-live actors would come in and out and make scenes
-would have a bar
-second floor with great views of BTMR
-QS

riverside restaurant
-along the rivers of the far west
-great views
-QS

farmhouse restaurant
-located in a mini agricultural section like DLP
-would be inside a farmhouse with facade looking like a ranch
-would have animatronic farm animals outside
-QS
E13EDB50-7E93-4F64-B82B-B75E8F8785E9.jpeg

Other Entertainment:
- a stunt show that happens on the buildings in the town like MK had in the 90s
-possibly a hoedown

Any ideas or input would be wonderful:))

I would love to have a Woody's Roundup character meal, with Trails End's fried chicken and strawberry shortcake. It could even take place in the Golden Horseshoe. Where they already have a stage for performances.

... and of course you gotta have Stinky Pete.

Hey welcome!

This is very similar to what a lot of us are working on for Stanza XIII in The Sorcerer's Apprentice Season 7 Competition. Check that thread on Friday (or after) to see our alternative takes on Frontierland!

YES!!!!!!!! I also want Splash to STAY cuz its my favorite, it could get relocated to somewhere like DAK or Fantasyland or Adventureland and I would not mind at all. Mine Train Thru Nature's Wonderland, an old Disneyland attraction would also be great
I feel like DAK would be fine for it. It could elucidate on the relation between animals and human folktales, and folktales with human history.

Haha, you made me think of something. Zootopia (and Bunnyburrow) could have been a much easier replacement for Splash.

They'd just have to sex change Brer Rabbit and make Brer Fox less of a jerk.

Yeah, either that or Muppets would have worked well. But Bunnyburrow could have more potential for creative shopping and fitting the atmosphere with worldbuilding.

Hello! I'm still trying to figure out one more attraction for this land and I'd like it to be a show (animatronic or live). I feel like cowboys are something that are very underutilized in all Frontierlands which is weird for a land that's about the idealized American west. Any ideas on how I could make a show about them and their stories that would fit into this land???

Normally I lean away from IPs for lands like this, but what about something themed to Woody’s Roundup?

Perhaps a little cave out there in the wilderness?

What about a Cattle Drive show? The Cowboys could detail the life on the frontier while keeping the cattle under control

The drive could also be a sort of parade, basically like the Itchy and Scratchy parade except real. We’d need a good route for it, though.

There used to be a real life cowboy show called Buffalo Bill's Wild West show in the 1880s. You could probably play off that. They had trick shooting, trick riding, and famous legends of the frontier. You could add the twist of adding Tall Tales of the Frontier like Pecos Bill, Paul Bunyan, Jon Henry, Calamity Jane, and such.

One thing I want to add; would the ones with existing Disney versions reflect those Disney versions? I know they’d probably cut some stuff from Pecos Bill, maybe even give him a better ending. A few cryptids could be added too. Maybe an animatronic Jackalope somewhere (the one from Boundin’?)

I am still debating adding a geyser mountain style drop ride to this land. I would like a big drop ride in this park and there are probably better places to put it, but I am trying to add another E-ticket to Frontierland. I am mainly worried that it would be too similar in theme to Big Thunder with its whole haunted mine approach. Maybe adding the thunderbird/earthquake plot or cowboys/bandits in some way could help differentiate the two? Any ideas?
