Ooooh...you're better than me. I'd tell the boss to pucker-up-buttercup and have a magical day. Sheesh! Go drool on the bosses desk. Lol!

I'm guessing this was a scheduled dental procedure but you waited till the immediate next day to call in sick; I'm with the boss on this one (though the Disney reference, unless a joke, was a little much). Sorry I can't back you up on this one.

That was a very long sentence.

Not sure why any respectable boss would say something like that, but I too think that if you had a planned procedure that you should have let your employeers know ahead of time to take the day off.

awwww I hope you feel better soon. Its bad enough for someone to talk to you that way and even worse when you aren't feeling well. I hope today isn't too bad!

I hope you feel better!

Next time (hopefully there is no next time) take the day in advance. If you feel up to it the next day, just go to work.

I once had a boss like yours. Ufortunately we need to plan ahead so they don't "make noise".

This is why you never tell you employer where you go on vacation. Also never let them know what things you enjoy. It is none of their buisness, what you do on your time. OPSEC.

Dear Disneydreamer23, I sincerely hope you will be feeling much better very, very, soon. Yes, your boss is a jerk! However, I hope your normal letter writing is better than exhibited today. Possibly, the medication caused you to be somewhat mentally fuzzy or is this your text message spelling.

BS. You never know what kind of reaction you'll have to these types of things. If you're sick, can't speak, I don't care if it's a dental procedure or an allergic reaction, you shouldn't have to come in. And yes, the response is a big part of it. It's not professional. Never threaten anyone.

The only thing I'd say is that you should reconsider who you're working for. I don't see any legit business doing this.

I think that the OP should take the passive-aggressive route. Stick a ton of "dental cotton" in your mouth, and let it fly every time you talk to your boss. You'll get tomorrow off, I'll bet.

wow! that sucks!!!

i guess i'm blessed to have the boss that i have. he LOVES disney world! he goes once a year.

the worst he did was load me down with work before i left, and has a bunch of work for me to do now that i'm back...

he's pretty cool though. we'll talk about disney and what's happening there. yeah, i guess i'm blessed in that area...

Boss definitely been a bit more professional if indeed that was said. However, most employers these days have a time off policy that groups vacation and sick days together. So if you have say ten days a year you can be away from work and you schedule all ten for a vacation then call in sick, well sorry but you didn't plan well.
