BUT... if you had to choose between the Beach Club or the Yacht Club, which one would you pick & why? We are a family of 3 (son is 3 yrs old) and historically stay over at Poly or BLT (home resort). Going on a non DVC trip for 4 nights & both BC & YC are available. Which should we choose & why?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Only stayed in Beach, but I think I'd like to try yacht next time, now keeping in mind I don't have kids, I'd like to eat at Yachtsman at least twice, and it'd be very convenient for me. I love to mix it up, but the poster above me is right, beach club is closer to epcot

Beach Club. I like the theme better. It's also a shorter walk to Epcot, but I'd still pick BC if the locations were reversed. :)

We had a similar dilemma. We like staying over in the MK area, but are trying out the Epcot area this trip. We were booked in the Beach Club, but decided to switch over the Yacht Club...mainly b/c I like the decor better, I've heard it's a little more quiet, and more of the rooms offer balconies- which is usually big for us.

Yacht Club. I like the decor better then the beach club. That is my only reason why. :)

Oh, and I should add, I did stay Club Level at Yacht Club - we were bumped up as Family of the Day for our entire trip. And it was over the top amazing! :)

I am now second quessing my move to BC. I too prefer the look of the YC rooms. It was more about the overwhelmingly large amount of people saying BC was "more desired".....

What's funny- there was a thread going a few weeks ago where it was pretty evenly split. Some were saying YC was the worst while other raved about it. I had to step away from it all and decide based on my preferences. I reminded myself of our stay at the Contemporary last year. So many people on here bash it, but we thought it was wonderful. So, I just decided we won't really know for sure if Yacht club is inferior, superior, or on par with Beach Club 'to us' w/o actually picking it and staying there. So, we'll find out come November. :)

Good shout. Really, there isn't a deal of difference between them and the distance from Epcot is similar. Like anything, it's really down to personal choices. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Yacht Club seems more "mature," or at least I can see the design and decor of Beach Club appealing to kids more. What that could possibly mean is that generally speaking Yacht Club stands a better chance of being less noisy and boisterous, as families with younger kids would probably be more attracted to Beach, leaving Yacht for families with older kids who are less inclined to squeal or act crazy, or guests without kids at all. No guarantee of that of course, especially in WDW, and no guarantee that that sort of scene is something the OP wants, especially with a 3 year old. But either way, you have access to Stormalong Bay to blow off steam.

I stay at the BC because it is a closer walk to Epcot and I like the Beach Club Marketplace.

Never stayed there myself, but I always wanted to just for this reason.

I've only stayed at the Beach Club, so I would probably pick that because it is closest to Epcot. But I do recommed going over to the Yacht Club for dinner at the Captain's Grille.

You cant go wrong with either....both outstanding in their own rights...I dont buy the stay at beachclub because its closer to EPCOT...they are literaly right next to each other...walking distance is negligible between the two

Ok, sticking with BC. Yes, as a DVC member I can always stay there. However, I got such a great deal as an AP holder on this trip, I'm not even using my points. Hopefully there will be another great deal down the road & I can try YC. Decision made.... I am going to save YC for another time. ***I think***
